About the role
As a frontend engineer at Pi, you will ship delightful experiences to every customer and potential customer who visits Pi’s site. You will help with technical decisions, collaborate with other engineers on the team, and partner with stakeholders cross-functionally. You'll write code and be part of the team that defines our product strategy. On a typical day, you can expect to plan and scope future projects and help ship a new feature. Besides writing & reviewing code, you'll plan work, write tech specs & review design docs, lead projects, collaborate across disciplines, and mentor other engineers. And if you do well and help us grow, you may be given the chance to manage a team if you're interested in that.
What you'll do
- You will design and build software capable of reaching our users
- You will partner with product managers, designers, and analysts to deeply understand the needs of our users and create a product that serves those needs
- You will develop and execute against both short and long-term roadmaps, making effective tradeoffs between business impact,
user experience, and a high-quality technical foundation
- You will improve the team and company – you will be an active participant in our culture (mentorship, interviewing, and new initiatives)
- You will support your fellow engineers through feedback, code reviews, and advancement of internal tools and processes
- You will help translate designs and wireframes into high-quality code
- You will optimize components for maximum performance across a vast array of web-capable devices and browsers
What we're seeking
Must have
- Proficient in React JS, JavaScript/TypeScript.
- Advanced proficiency in core principles, including state management, functional components, hooks, and virtual DOM manipulation.
- Experience working with sophisticated application state, e.g. MobX, Apollo Client, Redux, or similar.
- Working knowledge with RESTful APIs, GraphQL, or similar data communication protocol
