About the Role
We are seeking a Zonal HR Generalist to manage end-to-end HR operations across the assigned zone, ensuring effective employee lifecycle management, workforce support, employee engagement, compliance, and timely resolution of HR-related matters through robust coordination with business and operational teams.
Key Responsibilities
HR Operations, Workforce & Talent Management
- Manage end-to-end HR operations across the assigned zone, serving as the primary HR point of contact for employees, managers, and business teams across locations,
- Partner with business leaders and conduct regular site visits to understand workforce requirements, people-related challenges, and operational needs.
- Coordinate manpower planning, workforce requirements, and deployment in collaboration with business and operational teams.
- Support recruitment activities including sourcing, screening, interview coordination, offer management, and joining formalities.
- Coordinate and support performance management processes, including appraisals and other talent management initiatives.
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of attendance, leave, and payroll inputs, while maintaining confidential employee records in the HRMS and related platforms.
Employee Lifecycle, Engagement & Relations
- Manage the complete employee lifecycle, including onboarding, induction, confirmation, transfers, promotions, internal movements, and exit formalities.
- Handle employee grievances and non-IR employee relations matters, ensuring timely resolution in coordination with relevant stakeholders.
- Drive employee engagement, communication, recognition, and other people initiatives across assigned locations.
- Monitor attrition and absenteeism trends and drive retention initiatives to address root causes.
Compliance, MIS & HR Governance
- Ensure adherence to HR policies, applicable labour laws, and statutory requirements across assigned locations.
- Conduct periodic HR audits and support internal/external audits, identifying and closing gaps related to processes, documentation, and compliance.
- Maintain HR MIS and dashboards headcount, manpower requirements, attrition, absenteeism, and hiring trends for timely, accurate reporting to management.
Industrial Relations
- Manage Industrial Relations (IR) matters across the assigned zone, ensuring a stable and compliant employee relations environment.
- Investigate, document, and resolve IR-related grievances in coordination with business leaders and legal/compliance teams.
- Liaise with local unions, political representatives, community stakeholders, local administration, labour officials, and police authorities to maintain harmonious industrial relations and proactively address potential disruptions.
- Monitor the external environment for IR risks, including labour unrest, union activity, and relevant political or local developments, and escalate concerns proactively.
- Support disciplinary actions, domestic enquiries, show-cause matters, and other disciplinary processes in accordance with applicable labour laws and company policies.
- Represent the organization in conciliation proceedings and interactions with labour departments and other external authorities, as required.
- Drive worker relations and trust-building initiatives to minimize the risk of disputes, strikes, or work stoppages.
