What this role actually does The Retention Marketing Specialist owns WhatsApp marketing for a portfolio of D2C brands — building automated flows, running broadcast campaigns, and turning first-time buyers into repeat customers. This role generates revenue without incremental ad spend.

Studio APS is a performance marketing agency based in Kolkata. We manage crores in annual ad spend across Meta, Google, and Amazon for rapid-growing D2C brands. We work in pod structures, go deep on fewer brands, and focus on measurable growth outcomes.

Your week, roughly

- Build and manage WhatsApp automation flows — welcome, abandon cart, post-purchase, win-back, upsell
- Plan and execute 4–6 WhatsApp broadcast campaigns per month per brand
- Segment customer lists for targeted campaigns based on purchase history and behaviour
- Write conversational WhatsApp copy that feels human, not like a broadcast
- Manage tools like Interakt, AiSensy, or Wati and stay on top of platform updates
- Track and report on revenue attributed to WhatsApp — opens, clicks, conversions
- Run email flows and campaigns as a secondary channel via Klaviyo or similar
- Work with media buyers to align retention campaigns with paid acquisition strategy

What we are looking for

- 1–2 years in WhatsApp marketing, retention marketing, or CRM for a D2C brand or agency
- Hands-on experience with at least one WhatsApp BSP — Interakt, AiSensy,



Wati, or similar
- Good copywriting instinct — your messages feel like they came from a friend
- You understand the customer lifecycle — win-back is not the same as upsell
- Data-oriented — you track revenue per campaign, not just send volume
- Email marketing experience is a strong plus — Klaviyo, Mailchimp or any ESP
