Lead and oversee the end-to-end execution of Defence and strategic power system projects, including DG Sets, APUs, GPUs, mobile power systems, and emerging energy solutions. The role will be responsible for project delivery, engineering governance, costing support, quality compliance, customer engagement, product industrialization, and development of new technology/product verticals aligned with Defence and government requirements.

Key Responsibilities

1) Project Leadership & Governance

- Lead and monitor all ongoing Defence projects from order receipt through commissioning and final acceptance
- Ensure achievement of project milestones related to engineering, procurement, manufacturing, installation, testing, commissioning, and handover
- Strengthen project governance mechanisms, risk mitigation plans, and escalation frameworks
- Drive project profitability through effective cost control, resource optimization, and schedule adherence
- Conduct periodic project reviews and provide management visibility on progress, risks, and corrective actions

2) Engineering & Technical Leadership

- Provide technical leadership for DG Sets, APUs, GPUs, hybrid power solutions, energy storage systems, LT/HT systems, and associated balance-of-plant equipment
- Support/ Guide team for system architecture, mechanical and electrical designs, installation methodologies, and integration plans
- Ensure compliance with defence standards, customer specifications, statutory codes, and industry best practices
- Drive engineering standardization and development of scalable product platforms

3) Testing, Qualification & Certification

- Lead team for planning and execution of ATP, QTP, FAT, SAT, type testing, environmental testing,



and qualification programs
- Support team/ Coordinate product approvals through Government agencies, CAQL, DGQA, user evaluation teams, and NABL-accredited laboratories
- Ensure successful closure of observations raised during inspections, audits, and qualification trials
- Drive reliability validation, performance testing, and compliance certification activities

4) Quality Assurance & Regulatory Compliance

- Ensure implementation of Quality Assurance Plans (QAP), Test Plans, and Defence quality requirements
- Strengthen quality systems supporting Defence customers
- Lead audits, root-cause analysis, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives

5) Customer & Stakeholder Management

- Serve as a senior interface for projects under execution for Defence establishments, Government agencies, PSUs, consultants, private sector customers, and certification authorities, as per requirements
- Lead technical reviews, project progress meetings, customer demonstrations, and field acceptance activities
- Develop strong working relationships with key stakeholders to ensure customer satisfaction and repeat business opportunities
- Support resolution of critical technical and commercial issues at customer locations

6) Current Product Development (as per requirement)

- Support development, qualification,



and deployment of new products in the Defence power domain
- Support Business Development team for providing customized solutions as per customer requirements
- Participate in prototype development, validation trials, field evaluations, and technology demonstrations

7) Costing, Commercial & Bid Support (as per requirement)

- Support Marketing/ Business Development through costing and budgeting for Defence customers
- Review BOQs, technical specifications, compliance matrices, etc.
- Provide engineering inputs for optimizing cost for existing and new products
- Assist business teams during technical discussions and customer presentations

Requirements & Qualifications

Education

- B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical / Electrical / Electrical & Electronics / Power Engineering.
- MBA / PGDM in Operations, Project Management, or General Management will be an added advantage.

Experience

- 10-15 years of progressive experience in Defence, Power Generation, Energy Systems, or related sectors.
- 2-3 years in a leadership role managing multiple projects and cross-functional teams (desirable)
- Proven experience in DG Sets, APUs, GPUs, Defence Power Systems, Mobile Power Solutions, or similar strategic products (desirable)

Technical Competencies

- Strong understanding of system integration engineering
- Working knowledge of ATP, FAT, SAT, QTP, QAP, technical documentation, and Defence qualification processes
- Familiarity with DGQA, CAQL, NABL-accredited testing laboratories, military standards, and Government acceptance procedures
- Experience in product qualification, reliability engineering, and customer approval processes
