Job PurposeTo manage and coordinate Part Truck Load (PTL) transportation operations from booking and vehicle planning through pickup, transit, delivery and POD closure, ensuring timely delivery, cost-effective transportation and high customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities1. PTL Operations

- Manage day-to-day PTL transportation operations.
- Coordinate pickup and delivery of consignments across assigned routes.
- Plan vehicle placement based on shipment volume, weight, dimensions and destination.
- Coordinate with transporters, fleet owners, drivers and branch teams.
- Ensure timely vehicle reporting, loading and dispatch.

2. Shipment & Documentation
- Prepare and maintain shipment/consignment details, LR/GR and delivery documentation.
- Monitor shipment movement from origin to destination.
- Track pending, delayed, short-delivered and damaged shipments.
- Ensure timely POD collection and submission.
- Maintain accurate MIS and operational records.

Transporter

Management
- Coordinate with existing transport vendors for vehicle placement.
- Develop and maintain relationships with local and regional transporters.
- Negotiate freight rates within approved commercial limits.
- Monitor transporter performance, vehicle availability and service quality.

4. Tracking & Delivery Management
- Follow up with drivers and transporters for shipment status.
- Identify transit delays and take corrective action.
- Coordinate with destination branches for unloading and final delivery.
- Escalate critical delays, damages, shortages and customer complaints.

5. Cost & Performance Control




- Ensure optimum vehicle utilization and consolidation of PTL shipments.
- Control unnecessary detention, demurrage and additional transportation costs.
- Monitor freight costs and route-wise transportation expenses.
- Support the team in improving operational efficiency and reducing cost per shipment.

Customer

Coordination
- Coordinate with customers regarding pickup schedules, shipment status and delivery timelines.
- Provide accurate shipment updates.
- Resolve routine operational issues and escalate major customer concerns to management.

Required Skills
- Good knowledge of PTL transportation operations.
- Understanding of routes, freight rates and transporter networks.
- Strong follow-up and coordination skills.
- Good knowledge of LR/GR, POD, e-way bill and transport documentation.
- Basic knowledge of Excel and transportation/TMS software.
- Positive communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to handle multiple shipments and operational issues simultaneously.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Candidate Profile
- Graduate preferred.
- 2–5 years of experience in a transport company, PTL operation, 3PL or logistics company.
- Candidates currently working in PTL/FTL transport operations, branch operations or line-haul operations will be preferred.
- Experience handling transporter/vendor coordination and shipment tracking is desirable.
- Willingness to work in a fast-paced transport operations environment.
