Role Definition The role of a trainer is to develop a competency and skill sets in an individual to perform his/her effectively and efficiently in the work place. The trainer should communicate to the trainees about what is expected out of training in a simple and professional way.
͏ Roles and Responsibilities The trainer plays a pivotal role from start to end of the Domain training that includes the following:
- Participate in KA and KT related activities in the account and work with the client and various stakeholders to ensure that processes knowledge is documented and transferred to the operations team
- Deliver Generic Domain Specific Modules along with up skilling resources on process.
- Structure On boarding Training requirements, Pre Process, Customer Visits etc.
- Ensure that all new employees go through the defined new learning path for their respective roles in the account
- Deliver pre-process and process training for new employees
- Support new hires during OJT and GO-live
- Provide refresher and remedial training for existing employees
- Ensure all regulatory requirements are complied with from time to time
- Maintain trainee data and information
- Generate training reports from time to time
- Support any administrative tasks like trainee roster and scheduling etc.
- Create/Customize training content for delivery
- Provide feedback and coaching to analysts on the floor
- Take ownership for improvement in analysts performance
- Analyze training needs for employees working for the account.
- Responsible for account level Training metrics
- Responsible for adhering to training standardization guidelines defined by the BU Training Function
- Responsible to work with ops to bridge gaps during training

Profile Description – Trainer | US Mortgage
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in US Mortgage Operations and/or Training, with strong exposure to Mortgage Originations and Residential Underwriting.
- Strong understanding of the Mortgage Life Cycle, including application, processing, underwriting, closing, and post-closing activities.
- Expertise in Residential Underwriting and the 4 C's of Underwriting: Capacity, Capital, Collateral, and Character/Credit.
- In-depth knowledge of Conventional Loans with working knowledge of FHA, VA, USDA,
and Jumbo loan products.
- Experience in reviewing and interpreting mortgage documents including 1003, 1008, Note, Loan Estimate (LE), Closing Disclosure (CD), Deed of Trust, Credit Reports, Appraisal Reports, Tax Returns, W-2s, Pay Stubs, Bank Statements, Hazard Insurance, PMI, and Federal/State Disclosures.
- Hands-on experience with Automated Underwriting Systems (DU & LP) and investor guideline interpretation.
- Strong knowledge of mortgage regulations including CFPB, TRID, RESPA, HMDA, and FCRA requirements.
- Good understanding of investor guidelines issued by FNMA, FHLMC, FHA, VA, and USDA.
- Responsible for developing training plans, curriculum roadmaps, SOPs, process documents, and workflow maps.
- Conduct current hire, process, refresher, remedial, and upskilling training programs for operations teams.
- Lead Knowledge Acquisition (KA) and Knowledge Transfer (KT) sessions with clients and internal stakeholders.
- Partner with Operations, Quality, and Business teams to ensure effective capability building and seamless transitions.
- Perform Training Needs Analysis (TNA) and Training Needs Identification (TNI) to address skill gaps.
- Monitor trainee performance and provide structured coaching, mentoring, and feedback to improve productivity and quality.
- Maintain training databases, certification records, attendance reports, and learning dashboards.
- Prepare and present training effectiveness reports and performance metrics to stakeholders.
- Strong client interaction and stakeholder management skills with the ability to lead workshops and training discussions.
- Proficient in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook for content creation, reporting, and presentation delivery.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, facilitation, presentation, and influencing skills.
- Preferred certification: Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA) Certification or equivalent mortgage domain certification.
- Ability to drive continuous learning initiatives and support organizational training and skilling objectives.
