Job Overview
SSPYV is seeking a dedicated, enthusiastic, and qualified TGT English Teacher to teach English at the middle and secondary school levels. The ideal candidate should have a solid command of the English language, sound subject knowledge, effective classroom management skills, and the ability to make English language and literature engaging and meaningful for students.
The teacher will be responsible for strengthening students' skills in reading, writing, speaking, listening, grammar, vocabulary, comprehension, and literature, while developing their critical thinking, creativity, communication skills, and confidence in using the English language.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach English to middle and secondary classes (Classes VI–X) in accordance with the school's curriculum and academic standards.
- Plan and deliver engaging, structured, and student-centred lessons appropriate to the age and learning levels of students.
- Develop students' skills in reading, writing, speaking, listening, grammar, vocabulary, comprehension, and literature.
- Teach prose, poetry, supplementary reading, grammar, and writing skills effectively while encouraging literary appreciation.
- Prepare lesson plans, worksheets, classroom activities, assignments, projects, question papers, and other appropriate learning resources.
- Encourage students to develop strong communication, creative writing,
critical thinking, and analytical skills.
- Assess and monitor students' academic progress through classwork, homework, assignments, projects, periodic assessments, and examinations.
- Identify students who require additional academic support and provide appropriate remedial and differentiated learning strategies.
- Prepare students effectively for school examinations and board examinations, wherever applicable.
- Maintain a positive, disciplined, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment.
- Encourage regular reading habits, vocabulary development, effective written expression, and confident spoken English.
- Use creative and interactive teaching methodologies, including discussions, debates, role plays, presentations, language activities, and digital learning resources.
- Maintain accurate records of students' attendance, academic performance, assessments, and progress.
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding students' academic progress, behaviour, strengths, and areas requiring improvement.
- Participate actively in school assemblies, literary activities, competitions, celebrations, examinations, meetings, training programmes, and other school activities.
- Collaborate with fellow teachers, subject coordinators, and academic leaders for effective curriculum planning and implementation.
- Support the overall discipline, safety, well-being, and holistic development of students.
- Uphold the values, policies, culture, and educational vision of SSPYV at all times.
Preferred Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in English or a relevant discipline.
- B.Ed. or equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
- Proficiency in using digital teaching tools and educational technology will be an advantage.
Pay: From ₹35,000.00 per month
