About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Technical Manager – Solar to lead the execution of utility-scale solar and hybrid solar projects across Africa. The ideal candidate should have strong experience in Solar EPC project execution, electrical engineering, installation, commissioning, and project management. The role requires end-to-end ownership of projects, ensuring timely delivery while maintaining quality, safety, and budget standards.

Key Responsibilities

- Plan, execute, and manage solar and hybrid solar projects from initiation to completion.
- Oversee engineering, procurement, construction, installation, commissioning, testing, and project handover.
- Manage multiple project sites simultaneously while ensuring timely completion within budget.
- Supervise all civil, electrical, and mechanical activities at project sites.
- Coordinate with engineering, procurement, contractors, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure smooth project execution.
- Mobilize manpower, equipment, materials, logistics, and other project resources efficiently.
- Ensure compliance with approved drawings, technical specifications, quality standards, and HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) regulations.
- Identify project risks and implement effective mitigation strategies.
- Monitor project progress and prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports.
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients, consultants, contractors, and government authorities.




- Drive continuous improvements in project quality, cost optimization, scheduling, and implementation of new technologies.
- Ensure successful project commissioning and handover.

Required Skills & Qualifications

- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- 5–10 years of experience in Solar EPC or Renewable Energy projects.
- Proven experience in managing utility-scale solar power plant projects.
- Strong knowledge of solar PV systems, hybrid solar projects, battery energy storage systems (BESS), installation, commissioning, and maintenance.
- Hands-on experience in electrical systems including HT/LT, substations, switchyards, transformers, and inverters.
- Experience in managing multiple project sites simultaneously.
- Strong understanding of project planning, execution, quality control, and safety compliance.
- Excellent leadership, communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in project management tools such as MS Project or Primavera will be an added advantage.
