Position Overview

We are looking for an experienced Technical Head to lead the technical delivery of water supply, sewerage and storm water drainage projects. The role will involve technical leadership, design review, hydraulic modelling, DPR preparation, quality assurance, team management and client coordination.





The candidate should be a hands-on technical leader capable of independently reviewing engineering designs, solving complex technical issues and guiding multidisciplinary teams.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead planning, hydraulic design and technical delivery of water supply, sewerage and storm water drainage projects.
- Review and approve design criteria, hydraulic calculations, models, drawings, specifications, BOQs and technical reports.
- Lead the design of water transmission and distribution systems, WTP-related infrastructure, pumping stations, reservoirs, sewer networks, rising mains, STPs and urban drainage systems.
- Undertake and review hydraulic and hydrological analysis, including demand assessment, pipe sizing, pump selection, pressure analysis, rainfall-runoff analysis, IDF development and flood assessment.
- Lead development and review of hydraulic models using WaterGEMS, EPANET, SWMM/SewerGEMS and integrate them with QGIS/ArcGIS and CAD workflows.
- Provide technical leadership for DPRs, feasibility studies, master plans, concept reports, tender documents, specifications and BOQs.
- Ensure consistency between calculations, drawings, BOQs, specifications and cost estimates.
- Establish and maintain technical QA/QC procedures, design standards, checklists and engineering workflows.




- Lead and mentor hydraulic, civil, GIS, CAD and modelling teams and manage technical resources across multiple projects.
- Coordinate with structural, mechanical, electrical, environmental, survey and planning teams to ensure integrated designs.
- Participate in client meetings, technical presentations, site inspections and resolution of design/construction issues.
- Identify opportunities for value engineering, design optimization and cost-effective infrastructure solutions.

Required Experience & Skills

Ø Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in water supply, sewerage and storm water infrastructure.

Ø Strong experience in urban infrastructure consultancy and engineering design.

Ø Proven experience in leading technical/design teams and managing multiple projects.

Ø Strong knowledge of hydraulic and hydrological design principles.

Ø Hands-on experience with WaterGEMS/EPANET, SWMM/SewerGEMS, AutoCAD and QGIS/ArcGIS.

Ø Experience in preparing and reviewing DPRs, master plans, feasibility studies and tender documents.

Ø Positive knowledge of CPHEEO Manuals, IS/BIS standards, MoHUA guidelines, PHE specifications and applicable SORs.

Ø Strong client-facing, communication, analytical and problem-solving skills.

Ø Experience with AMRUT, JJM, UIDF or similar urban infrastructure programmes will be an advantage.
