Role Summary The Tech Lead will provide hands on technical leadership across the Enterprise Solution Suite portfolio, with direct responsibility for solution architecture, application development, AI and

Generative AI capabilities, modernization, engineering quality, and production support. The individual will actively design and develop enterprise applications and intelligent solutions,

including AI powered features, reusable AI services, integrations, and automation capabilities.

This is a hands on delivery role, not solely an advisory or coordination position. The Tech Lead will contribute directly to application and AI development while providing technical direction and guidance to the Full Stack Developer, Back End Developer, and other delivery resources supporting ESS and internally developed enterprise products.

Key Responsibilities

- Translate business and product requirements into scalable technical solutions.
- Establish application architecture, coding standards, integration patterns, data models,

testing practices, and deployment approaches.
- Lead technical design reviews, code reviews, estimation, release planning, and

production readiness.
- Provide technical direction while remaining hands-on with complex development work.
- Identify opportunities to reuse common components, APIs, frameworks, and services

across ESS applications.
- Support new product development, application enhancements, modernization initiatives,

technical debt reduction, and production issue resolution.




- Assess existing applications and recommend appropriate modernization, cloud

migration, integration, or retirement strategies.
- Balance delivery across multiple applications based on business priorities, operational

risk, and portfolio commitments.
- Ensure that applications are secure, scalable, observable, maintainable, and

supportable.
- Establish consistent engineering and operational standards across the ESS portfolio.
- Design reusable AI services that can support ESS products.
- Evaluate appropriate use of generative AI, semantic search, recommendation engines,

rules, and traditional application logic.
- Implement responsible AI controls, evaluation frameworks, guardrails, privacy

protections, monitoring, and human review.
- Support intelligent document processing, workflow automation, enterprise search, and

AI-enabled application use cases.
- Guide cloud-native application development using AWS and approved enterprise

patterns.
- Establish CI/CD, infrastructure automation, logging, monitoring, tracing, and alerting.
- Ensure applications meet enterprise requirements for security, privacy, performance,

resilience, accessibility, and disaster recovery.
- Partner with Architecture, Cybersecurity, Infrastructure, Data,



Product and business

teams.

Required Qualifications

- Eight or more years of enterprise software engineering experience.
- Three or more years of technical leadership or solution design experience.
- Experience building AI-enabled enterprise applications.
- Experience with AWS Bedrock, large language models, embeddings, semantic search,

retrieval-augmented generation, or recommendation engines.
- Experience supporting HR, employee experience, learning, document management,

workflow, or internal enterprise applications.
- Experience modernizing legacy applications and moving workloads to cloud-native

architectures.
- Strong hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, Python, Node.js, TypeScript, or

comparable technologies.
- Experience with React and up-to-date web application architecture.
- Experience designing APIs, microservices, integrations, and distributed applications.
- Experience developing and deploying applications in AWS or another major cloud

platform.
- Experience with relational and NoSQL databases, event-driven architecture, messaging,

and data integration.
- Experience with application security, SSO, authentication, authorization, role-based

access, encryption, and audit logging.
- Experience with automated testing, CI/CD, observability, application support, and

production incident resolution.
- Ability to lead multiple applications and priorities within an enterprise portfolio.
- Experience working with globally distributed teams
