Key Responsibilities
1. Team Leadership & Equipment Management
- Manage and deploy a team of site surveyors, instrument operators, and field assistants across multiple road sections.
- Supervise the calibration, maintenance, and allocation of all field equipment, including Total Stations, Auto Levels, and DGPS units.
- Train and mentor junior surveyors to ensure high technical standards and secure field practices.
- Handling the Client/Client representative independently for day to day site activity.
2. Survey Planning & Execution Control
- Establish the master primary control network and high-precision reference benchmarks for the entire project stretch.
- Oversee all setting-out activities for traversing, centerlines, curves, layout of flyovers, bridges, culverts, and drainage systems.
- Record Original Ground Levels (OGL) and maintain Finished Road Levels (FRL) before major construction phases begin.
- Controlling the laying activity of pavement layers with sensor paver including WMM, DBM, BC, DLC, PQC etc.
3. Data Verification & Software Processing
- Review, verify, and approve raw survey data downloaded by the team from Total Stations and other digital instruments.
- Lead the processing of survey points in AutoCAD Civil 3D to generate precise cross-sections, longitudinal profiles, and layout designs.
- Verify earthwork calculations (cut and fill volumes)
to ensure accurate billing and material management.
4. Quality Assurance & Coordination
- Conduct regular quality audits on-site to ensure the construction aligns perfectly with approved design plans (periodical checking of TBM and Control points).
- Coordinate directly with Project Managers, Highway Engineers, Client Representatives, and Subcontractors to resolve any level, layout and alignment conflicts.
- Maintain flawless documentation, including approved survey sheets, as-built drawings, and progress reports for client sign-offs.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Leadership & Management: 5+ years of experience specifically managing a team of surveyors on large infrastructure projects.
- Experience: Minimum 8 to 12+ years of total surveying experience in highways, expressways, or major road construction.
- Education: Degree/Diploma in Civil Engineering, Geomatics, or a specialized Certification in Survey Engineering.
- Technical Expertise:
- Deep technical knowledge of Total Station applications, Auto Level loops, and DGPS networks.
- Expert proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, MX Road, or similar highway design software.
- Strong mastery of coordinate transformation, error adjustment, and advanced road geometry.
- Soft Skills: Excellent project management, conflict resolution, and verbal/written communication skills.
