Company Description International Oncology Cancer Institute (IOCI), under the aegis of International Oncology Services Private Limited (IOSPL), is a group of dedicated cancer specialty hospitals operating across India. With more than 10 cancer specialty centres across the country, IOCI provides comprehensive cancer diagnostic and treatment services, including advanced oncology care.
Role Description This full-time in office role is for a Surgical Oncologist based at ILS Hospitals in Agartala.
The Surgical
Oncologist will evaluate patients with suspected or confirmed cancers, perform diagnostic workups, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to plan individualized treatment. Daily responsibilities include performing oncologic surgeries, such as breast and other organ-specific procedures, managing pre- and post-operative care, and monitoring treatment outcomes. The role involves participation in tumor boards, maintaining detailed medical records, adhering to clinical protocols and safety standards, and contributing to patient and family counseling.
The Surgical
Oncologist is expected to support continuous improvement in clinical quality, mentor junior medical staff, and engage in ongoing professional development.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong expertise in Cancer Treatment and comprehensive Cancer care, including staging, treatment planning, and follow-up.
- Candidates should possess advanced skills in Surgical Oncology, with proven experience in complex oncologic procedures and perioperative management.
- Candidates should possess specialized competence in Breast Surgery and related oncologic interventions.
- Candidates should possess a solid foundation in Medicine, including internal medicine principles relevant to oncology and management of comorbid conditions.
- Recognized medical degree (MBBS) with an MCh / DNB / MS in Surgical Oncology or General Surgery with substantial oncology experience.
- Valid medical registration and eligibility to practice in India, with prior experience in a tertiary or quaternary care hospital preferred.
- Strong clinical judgment, teamwork, and communication skills, with a commitment to ethical, patient-centered care.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced hospital environment, engage in multidisciplinary collaboration, and participate in quality improvement and clinical audits.
