Role Description This is a full time, on-site role for a Surgery Coder – Podiatry based in Mumbai.

The Surgery

Coder will review podiatry surgery documentation, assign appropriate CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS codes, and ensure coding accuracy in line with payer and regulatory guidelines. Daily responsibilities include validating medical necessity, checking modifiers, and working closely with surgeons and clinical staff to clarify documentation. The role involves preparing claims for submission, resolving coding-related denials, and maintaining up-to-date knowledge of podiatry-specific coding changes.

The Surgery

Coder will also contribute to internal audits, support training efforts, and help optimize revenue cycle efficiency while maintaining compliance.

Qualifications

- Strong knowledge of medical coding systems and guidelines, including CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS, and payer-specific rules.
- Experience coding podiatry and surgical procedures, with the ability to interpret operative notes and clinical documentation.




- Familiarity with medical billing, reimbursement processes, and denial management in a healthcare or hospital setting.
- Proficiency using electronic health records (EHR), coding software, and standard office productivity tools.
- Relevant certification such as CPC, CCS, or equivalent medical coding credential is preferred.
- Strong analytical, documentation review, and attention-to-detail skills to ensure coding accuracy and compliance.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with physicians, nurses, and administrative staff.
- Ability to work on-site in Mumbai, manage a consistent full-time workload, and meet productivity and quality targets.
- Prior experience in podiatry or surgical coding and knowledge of healthcare regulations and privacy requirements (e.g., HIPAA or local equivalents) is an advantage.
