Roles and Responsibilities :

- Assign accurate medical codes to patient records using CPC, SDS, and other relevant coding systems.

- Review and analyze surgical procedures performed by cardiothoracic surgeons to determine appropriate code assignments.

- Collaborate with healthcare providers to resolve any discrepancies or questions related to coding accuracy.

- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current coding guidelines, regulations, and industry standards.

Job Requirements :

- 3-6 years of experience in medical coding for general surgery or cardiac surgery.

- Certification in one or more of the following: CPC (Certified Professional Coder), COC (Certified Ophthalmic Coder), or equivalent certification.

- Robust understanding of anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology as they relate to vascular diseases and their treatment options.
