Company: HanaV
Function: Supplier Development / Quality / Manufacturing
Industry: Precision Manufacturing | Aerospace | Industrial Engineering
About HanaVHanaV is a precision manufacturing company working with a network of specialized manufacturing partners to deliver complex, high-quality engineering components and assemblies.
We are looking for a Supplier Development & Quality Engineer who can take complete technical ownership of components manufactured through our supplier network.
This is not a procurement or purchase follow-up role.
We need someone who understands engineering drawings, manufacturing processes and inspection, can work closely with suppliers on the shop floor, solve manufacturing problems and ensure that parts are delivered right, on time and to specification.
The RoleYou will be responsible for taking components through the complete supplier manufacturing cycle:
Drawing Review → Supplier Selection → DFM → Process Planning → Manufacturing Follow-up → Problem Solving → Inspection → FAI → Part Clearance
You should be equally comfortable discussing a drawing with an engineer, troubleshooting a machining problem with a vendor, inspecting a component and driving a supplier to meet delivery commitments.
Key ResponsibilitiesSupplier Development
- Identify and evaluate suppliers based on their technical capabilities, equipment, capacity and quality systems.
- Match components with the right supplier based on manufacturing capability.
- Develop new suppliers for machining, fabrication, sheet metal, special processes and other manufacturing requirements.
- Conduct supplier capability assessments and audits.
- Support suppliers during recent component development.
- Work with suppliers on DFM, process planning, tooling, fixtures and inspection methods.
- Develop supplier capability to meet HanaV's quality and delivery requirements.
Manufacturing & Execution
- Review engineering drawings and technical requirements before releasing parts for manufacturing.
- Understand critical dimensions, tolerances, GD&T;, materials, surface finishes and special processes.
- Follow components through different stages of manufacturing.
- Visit suppliers regularly and work directly with their production and quality teams.
- Identify manufacturing bottlenecks before they impact delivery.
- Drive suppliers to meet committed production and delivery schedules.
- Troubleshoot manufacturing problems directly with suppliers.
- Recommend changes to process sequence, setup, tooling, fixtures or inspection methods where required.
- Coordinate between HanaV engineering, suppliers and quality teams to resolve technical issues quickly.
Supplier Quality
- Ensure suppliers understand all drawing, quality and inspection requirements before production.
- Review and approve inspection methods for critical dimensions.
- Perform or supervise dimensional inspection of components where required.
- Review supplier inspection reports and supporting quality documentation.
- Conduct First Article Inspection (FAI) and support AS9102 requirements where applicable.
- Identify and document non-conformances.
- Lead root-cause analysis and corrective actions with suppliers.
- Drive NCR, CAPA and 8D closure.
- Ensure corrective actions are implemented on the shop floor rather than remaining only as documentation.
- Support supplier quality audits and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Clear components for acceptance after verifying conformity to engineering requirements.
Technical KnowledgeStrong understanding of:
- Engineering drawings
- GD&T;
- Fits and tolerances
- CNC machining processes
- Milling and turning
- Manufacturing process planning
- Tooling and fixtures
- Engineering materials
- Surface treatment and special processes
- Measuring instruments
- Dimensional inspection
- CMM inspection principles
- First Article Inspection
- Root-cause analysis
- NCR / CAPA / 8D
- Supplier quality management
Exposure to AS9100 / AS9102 / aerospace quality systems will be a strong advantage. The Person We're Looking ForThis role requires someone who is technically strong and execution-oriented.
If a supplier says
“We cannot achieve this tolerance.”
we don't want someone who simply reports the problem back to the office.
We want someone who goes to the supplier, understands the machine, setup, datum, fixture, tool, process sequence and inspection method, identifies what is going wrong and works with the supplier to find a solution.
You should be
- Comfortable spending significant time at supplier locations and on shop floors.
- Strong in practical mechanical/manufacturing engineering.
- Able to make quick, technically sound decisions.
- Persistent in following through until problems are closed.
- Comfortable handling multiple suppliers and components simultaneously.
- Good at building relationships with suppliers while still holding them accountable for quality and delivery.
- Willing to take ownership rather than wait for instructions.
- Able to balance Quality + Cost + Delivery + Manufacturability.
Preferred Background
- B.E./B.Tech/Diploma in Mechanical, Production, Manufacturing or related engineering discipline.
- Experience in supplier development, supplier quality, manufacturing engineering or precision component manufacturing.
- Experience working with CNC machining suppliers strongly preferred.
- Aerospace, defence, automotive Tier-1/Tier-2, precision engineering, industrial equipment or similar manufacturing experience preferred.
What Success Looks LikeA successful Supplier Development & Quality Engineer at HanaV should be capable of taking ownership from: RFQ / Drawing → Right Supplier → Manufacturing → Troubleshooting → Inspection → Corrective Action → Accepted Part → On-Time Delivery The objective is simple:
Develop capable suppliers and get technically correct parts delivered on time.
