- Key Objectives
- Partner with the CTO’s technical teams and group leaders to implement strategic initiatives; measure business impact of research ideas; develop communication strategies with external stakeholders; build connections with startups in energy and decarbonization
- Major Deliverables
- Partner with the CTO to develop strategic initiatives and set goals for the research center
- Scan the external environment for new technologies that could benefit Thermax
- Measure the business impact delivered by current research teams and measure progress of projects
- Bring domain knowledge in new energy, energy transformation, carbon capture, engineering design, AI and pilot scale reactor design
- Partner with other Thermax business units and build business case
- Organize events and workshops to achieve strategic goals set by the CTO

- Experience with energy transformation and sustainable technologies such as carbon capture, biofuels, hydrogen, electrochemical engineering, electrification of heating, and other green energy initiatives around the world




- Background in working with R&D; and business development teams
- Background in chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, control systems, AI and operations of autonomous plants, and adjacent disciplines
- Ability to effectively interface with senior stakeholders within and outside Thermax
- Robust proficiency in analytics and digital tools
- Ability to grasp & integrate new AI-based tools in the workflow
- Total desirable Years of Experience

5-8 years
- Minimum Years of Experience in relevant role

2-3 years in Industry in strategic/R&D; roles
- Qualifications

5-8 years post-B. Tech or 2-3 Years post PhD in industry managing technology and innovation initiatives, understanding technical and research literature, performing analytics, and developing communications strategies preferable in chemicals, energy, and/or environmental engineering organizations.
