Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Stores & Material Movement In-Charge to manage the complete stores operation, inventory control, material receipt, storage, issue, and internal movement of materials within the manufacturing facility. The candidate should have good knowledge of inventory management and coordination with production, purchase, quality, and dispatch teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day stores and inventory operations.
- Receive, verify, and record incoming raw materials, components, tools, consumables, and other materials.
- Ensure proper material identification, storage, and bin management.
- Maintain accurate stock records and conduct regular physical stock verification.
- Issue materials to production based on approved requirements.
- Coordinate the internal movement of materials between stores, production, inspection, and other departments.
- Ensure timely availability of materials for production activities.
- Monitor minimum and maximum stock levels and highlight shortages.
- Maintain proper documentation for GRN, material issue, transfer, return, and stock adjustments.
- Coordinate with the Purchase Department regarding pending and expected materials.
- Coordinate with Production and Planning teams for material requirements.
- Monitor slow-moving, excess, obsolete, and damaged materials.
- Ensure proper handling and protected storage of materials.
- Maintain housekeeping and safety standards in the stores area.
- Prepare daily/weekly/monthly inventory and material movement reports.
- Support stock audits and resolve inventory discrepancies.
- Ensure FIFO/appropriate inventory practices wherever applicable.
- Supervise stores staff, helpers, and material-handling personnel.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of Stores & Inventory Management.
- Experience in a manufacturing/CNC/engineering industry preferred.
- Good knowledge of material receipt, issue, transfer, and stock control.
- Knowledge of ERP/software-based inventory management is preferred.
- Good documentation and record-keeping skills.
- Ability to coordinate effectively with multiple departments.
- Good communication and team-management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to manage material movement efficiently in a fast-paced production environment.
Qualification Diploma / BE / B.Tech in Mechanical, Production, Industrial Engineering, or a relevant field preferred.
Preferred Candidate Profile
- Experience in CNC/manufacturing/engineering product industries will be an advantage.
- Should have hands-on experience in stores, inventory, and material movement.
- Should be capable of independently handling the stores function and coordinating with production and purchase teams.
Pay: From ₹40,000.00 per month
