Key Responsibilities1. Procurement & Purchase
- Manage day-to-day purchasing requirements for pathology laboratories and collection centres.
- Procure laboratory reagents, chemicals, kits, consumables, vacutainers, tubes, PPE, stationery, housekeeping materials, and other medical supplies.
- Obtain and compare quotations from multiple approved vendors.
- Negotiate prices, credit terms, delivery schedules, and other commercial terms.
- Prepare Purchase Orders (POs) as per approved requirements.
- Ensure timely delivery of materials to laboratories and collection centres.
- Develop and maintain a reliable vendor network.
1. Vendor Management
- Identify and evaluate new suppliers based on quality, pricing, service, and delivery performance.
- Maintain an approved vendor list.
- Monitor vendor performance and resolve issues related to quality, shortages, delays, or incorrect supplies.
- Coordinate with vendors for replacement of damaged, expired, or incorrect materials.
- Negotiate annual rate contracts wherever applicable.
1. Inventory & Stock Management
- Coordinate with laboratory and operations teams to understand stock requirements.
- Monitor stock levels and ensure minimum/maximum stock levels are maintained.
- Prevent stock-outs, overstocking, expiry, and unnecessary purchases.
- Track expiry dates of reagents and consumables.
- Coordinate with stores/lab teams for physical stock verification.
- Review consumption patterns and plan purchases accordingly.
1. Reagent & Laboratory Material Procurement
- Coordinate procurement of routine and specialized pathology reagents and kits.
- Ensure materials are sourced from authorized/approved suppliers.
- Coordinate with technical/laboratory teams regarding specifications and approved brands.
- Ensure appropriate documentation for reagents, kits, chemicals, and other regulated laboratory materials.
1. Documentation & MIS
- Maintain Purchase Orders, quotations, comparative statements, invoices, delivery challans, and vendor records.
- Maintain purchase and consumption reports.
- Prepare monthly Purchase MIS covering:
- Purchase value
- Vendor-wise purchases
- Category-wise purchases
- Price variance
- Pending orders
- Stock status
- Expiry/near-expiry items
- Ensure purchase records are accurate and properly maintained.
1. Cost Control
- Identify opportunities for cost savings without compromising quality.
- Compare historical purchase prices and identify price increases.
- Negotiate bulk purchase and annual contract rates.
- Work with Finance and Operations teams to control procurement costs.
- Monitor purchase budgets and approved spending limits.
1. Coordination
Coordinate closely with:
- Laboratory / Pathologists
- Lab Technicians
- Store Department
- Operations Team
- Finance & Accounts
- Quality Department
- Vendors and suppliers
Key Skills
- Strong negotiation and vendor-management skills
- Knowledge of pathology laboratory consumables and reagents

- Ability to work under deadlines
- ERP/Purchase software knowledge preferred
Qualification
- Graduate in any discipline; preferably B.Com / BBA / Supply Chain / Pharmacy / Life Sciences.
- Experience in pathology, diagnostic laboratory, hospital, healthcare, or medical procurement will be preferred.

Preferred Candidate Profile The ideal candidate should have experience handling procurement for a pathology/diagnostic laboratory network, understand laboratory consumables and reagents, have solid vendor relationships, and be capable of managing multiple branches/collection centres while maintaining cost efficiency and uninterrupted material availability. Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
