Sports Video Editor

LOCATION - Gurgaon

EXPERIENCE - 2-5 years

TYPE - Full-time

ABOUT PLUS.FAN Plus.Fan is a fan experience platform for teams, clubs and leagues. We give sports organisations the technology to sell memberships and insider subscriptions behind-the-scenes content, player access and exclusive experiences that turn followers into a connected, paying fan base, and open up revenue beyond tickets and merchandise.

We work with clubs and leagues internationally, including York City FC and Carrick Rangers, and are now building out our India operation across various sporting properties. Alongside the platform, we are expanding into sports content and social media for our international and national clients.

THE ROLE We are looking for a video editor who can turn raw sports footage into content people actually want to watch.

This is an editing-first role. You will edit matchday footage, player stories, interviews, behind-the-scenes content,

fan moments and branded campaigns - everything from quick-turnaround Reels to longer-form sports films. You will take a brief and raw footage, find the story, make the creative calls and deliver a finished edit.

If editing is not your core skill, this is not the role for you.

WHAT YOU'LL DO Editing & Storytelling

Develop short-form and long-form sports content for Plus.Fan and its partner teams, leagues, athletes and brands.

Edit Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts and other vertical, social-first formats.

Edit longer-form work - interviews, player features, documentaries, branded films and match stories.

Turn unstructured footage - matches, training, interviews, BTS, fan interactions, events - into stories with a clear narrative flow.

Find the strong moments in raw footage: the quote, the reaction, the emotion, the storyline nobody briefed you on.

Build a hook in the opening seconds and hold attention through to the end.

Make the calls on pacing, cuts, music, sound design, transitions and graphics.

Know the difference between editing for retention in short-form and building structure across long-form.

Structure longer pieces so narrative flow and audience interest hold across the full runtime.

Work scorecards,

player stats and match data into edits without making them look like spreadsheets.

Matchday & Quick Turnaround

Work across live matches, tournaments, training sessions and sporting events.

Deliver matchday edits against tight sporting timelines, often while the event is still running.

Cut player highlights, match moments, celebrations, reactions and fan moments.

Prioritise and organise large volumes of footage efficiently under event pressure.

Work with on-ground teams to flag what needs turning around first.

Operate at the speed and unpredictability that sports content demands.

Motion Graphics & Craft

Create title cards, lower thirds, player introductions, end frames and text animation.

Know when graphics lift a story and when they just clutter it.

Adapt editing style to different teams, athletes and campaigns while holding brand consistency.

Hold a high bar on typography, composition, sound and colour.

Collaboration & Delivery

Work with the social, creative and account teams to understand the objective behind each piece.

Translate a brief into an editing approach - and bring your own ideas when you review footage.

Repurpose long-form footage into multiple short-form assets and platform-specific edits.

Create different cuts and versions of the same content for different platforms, audiences and campaigns.

Take feedback and turn revisions around fast.

Keep project files, footage and versions organised across multiple parallel projects.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING Essential. If you don't have these, this is not the right role.

2-5 years of professional editing experience in sports, entertainment, media, advertising or digital content.

Hands-on experience across both short-form and long-form work.

A portfolio or showreel of work you personally edited.

Command of Premiere Pro or an equivalent professional platform.

Working knowledge of After Effects or another motion graphics tool.

Solid grasp of audio editing, sound design and colour correction.

A feel for storytelling, pacing and visual rhythm - and for what makes someone stop scrolling.

The ability to take an edit from brief to final delivery without hand-holding.

Genuine interest in sport, and familiarity with how sports content is consumed on social media &

subscription-based platforms.

WHAT WOULD SET YOU APART Desirable, not essential. Any of these will strengthen your application.

Experience with sports teams, leagues, franchises or athletes.

Live sports or matchday editing experience.

Documentary, interview or branded film work.

Advanced motion graphics or animation - 2D/3D, data visualisation, broadcast-style packages.

Familiarity with AI-assisted editing and production tools.

Basic shooting, photography or graphic design skills.

THE KIND OF EDITOR WE WANT Not someone who knows how to operate editing software. Someone with creative judgement.

Someone who can look at two hours of footage and work out: What's the story? What's the hook? What's worth keeping? Where should this move faster? What music fits? Where does the emotion land? What will make someone stop scrolling?

You should be able to take a brief and figure out how to execute it, rather than needing every cut and transition prescribed.

WORKING HERE This is a high-ownership startup environment. You will get:

Hands-on exposure to qualified sports teams, leagues and athletes

Real matchday and on-ground sports exposure

Range across short-form and long-form sports content

National and international sporting projects

Work spanning fan engagement, social media and sports marketing campaigns

During sporting seasons, priorities shift quickly and turnarounds get tight. You should enjoy that rather than tolerate it.

HOW TO APPLY Show us what you can edit.

Send your resume and portfolio to [email protected]. Portfolio may include:

Examples of your short-form edits.

Examples of your long-form edits.

Sports work and motion graphics work, if you have it.

Please state your specific contribution on each project. Youll be evaluated on demonstrated editing ability and portfolio quality.
