Role Overview
As a Sourcing Executive at Offcomfrt, you will be responsible for sourcing fabrics, trims, packaging, and manufacturing partners for our apparel collections.
You will work closely with the founder, fashion designer, and production team to ensure that every product is sourced at the right quality, cost, and timeline.
This role requires strong vendor relationships, negotiation skills, product understanding, and the ability to get things done.
Key Responsibilities
1. Fabric & Material Sourcing
Source fabrics for T-shirts, lowers, hoodies, sweatshirts, jackets, and activewear.
Identify suitable fabrics based on design, GSM, composition, stretch, hand feel, durability, and performance.
Source trims, labels, buttons, zippers, drawcords, elastics, and other garment accessories.
Develop and maintain a database of reliable fabric and trim suppliers.
Identify new suppliers and manufacturing partners.
Arrange fabric swatches, samples, and lab dips where required.
Ensure materials meet Offcomfrt’s quality standards.
2. Vendor Management
Find, evaluate, and onboard new fabric suppliers and garment manufacturers.
Build strong working relationships with existing vendors.
Negotiate prices, MOQs, lead times, and payment terms.
Compare supplier quotations and recommend the best options.
Maintain accurate vendor records and sourcing documentation.
Regularly follow up with suppliers to ensure commitments are met.
Identify backup suppliers to reduce production risks.
3. Costing & Commercials
Prepare and compare fabric and material cost sheets.
Obtain quotations for new products and collections.
Support product costing and target price development.
Negotiate competitive rates without compromising quality.
Track material price changes and communicate their impact.
Help the team achieve healthy product margins.
4. Sampling & Production Coordination
Coordinate with the fashion designer and sampling team for material requirements.
Arrange fabric and trim samples for recent designs.
Ensure materials are available according to the development calendar.
Follow up on sample production and bulk material timelines.
Coordinate with manufacturers to resolve sourcing-related issues.
Monitor production delays caused by material availability.
Support the team in meeting launch deadlines.
5. Quality & Compliance
Verify fabric specifications against approved requirements.
Coordinate material quality checks and testing when required.
Ensure suppliers provide the correct fabric, color, GSM, and composition.
Help maintain consistent quality across repeat orders.
Escalate quality issues and coordinate corrective action.
Maintain approved supplier and material records.
6. Supply Chain Improvement
Research better fabrics, manufacturers, and sourcing opportunities.
Identify cost-saving opportunities.
Improve sourcing processes and supplier reliability.
Support inventory planning for upcoming launches.
Help build a scalable sourcing system for Offcomfrt’s future growth.
Requirements
1–4 years of experience in apparel sourcing, textile sourcing, garment merchandising, or procurement.
Strong knowledge of fabrics, GSM, composition, trims, and garment manufacturing.
Good vendor network in textile and garment manufacturing is preferred.
Strong negotiation and communication skills.
Good understanding of costing, MOQ, lead times, and quality control.
Ability to manage multiple suppliers and deadlines.
Proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets.
Willingness to travel to suppliers and manufacturing units when required.
Strong follow-up, ownership, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Experience
Experience with premium streetwear, activewear, or D2C fashion brands.
Knowledge of cotton, cotton blends, polyester, fleece, terry, rib, and performance fabrics.
Experience sourcing fabrics for T-shirts, lowers, hoodies, and women’s apparel.
Existing contacts with fabric mills, knitting units, dyeing units, and garment manufacturers.
Understanding of garment sampling and production processes.
Experience working with growing brands and fast-moving collections.
