Business Development Manager – Solar Industry

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced and result-oriented Business Development Manager with proven experience in the solar industry to drive business growth across the South Zone.

The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of the solar energy market, excellent business development skills, and an established understanding of customers, partners, and market opportunities within the renewable energy sector.

Prior experience in the solar industry is mandatory.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop and execute business development strategies for the South Zone.
- Identify and generate new business opportunities in the solar and renewable energy market.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, channel partners, EPC companies, consultants, and other key stakeholders.
- Generate leads, conduct client meetings, understand requirements, and convert opportunities into business.
- Manage the complete sales/business development cycle from lead generation to order closure.
- Identify recent markets, projects, and potential customers across South India.
- Achieve assigned sales and revenue targets.
- Coordinate with internal teams such as sales, engineering, project, procurement, and operations to ensure smooth execution of customer requirements.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities, pricing, and customer requirements.
- Prepare regular business development reports, sales forecasts, and market updates.
- Participate in exhibitions, industry events, client meetings, and other business development activities.
- Develop and maintain a strong sales pipeline for the assigned territory.
- Travel extensively across the South Zone as required.





Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Marketing, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in the solar/renewable energy industry is mandatory.
- Strong understanding of the solar energy market and industry ecosystem.
- Proven experience in business development, sales, or key account management.
- Strong communication, negotiation, presentation, and relationship-management skills.
- Ability to independently identify opportunities and convert them into business.
- Strong target-oriented and analytical approach.
- Willingness to travel extensively across South India.
- Good knowledge of the South Indian market will be an advantage.
- Proficiency in MS Office and CRM tools.

Note: Candidates without prior experience in the solar/renewable energy industry will not be considered.

Pay: ₹35,000.00 - ₹80,000.00 per month
