We are seeking a detail-oriented Software Validation Engineer with 5+ Years to help ensure the quality and reliability of software used to configure, commission, and monitor merging units and related substation automation devices. You will execute functional and integration tests of software features, validate IEC 61850 engineering workflows, investigate defects, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to verify solutions. This role offers an chance to develop practical expertise in substation automation, SCL engineering, Sampled Values, GOOSE, and software quality assurance.

Key Responsibilities

- Execute tests: Perform functional, integration, compatibility, and regression testing for merging-unit configuration and IEC 61850 communication workflows.
- Verify configurations: Validate SCD imports, device settings, generated SCL/CID files, and configuration bundles.
- Report and verify defects: Document issues, analyse logs and network traffic,



collaborate with engineering teams to resolve issues, and retest fixes.
- Maintain quality assets: Update test cases, results, and traceability; contribute to automation and communication test status and risks.
