ABOUT THE ROLE

We are hiring a hands-on QA / Test Engineer to own quality across both of our products. Wualt is a personal-safety platform: a smart ring and app, a live response centre, and a real-time emergency flow. Nexus is our enterprise platform for apparel manufacturing operations.

This is a generalist quality role. You will do both manual and automated testing, from writing and running test plans by hand to building the automation and CI checks that catch regressions before they reach users. Because Wualt is a safety product, correctness and reliability are not negotiable.

WHAT YOU WILL OWN

- Test strategy and coverage across both products: the mobile apps, the web consoles, the back-end APIs, and the real-time flows.
- The real-time, safety-critical flows, tested carefully: live location and audio, and the alerts that ride on them.
- Clear test plans and test cases written from product requirements, plus exploratory, functional, and regression testing done by hand.
- Automated tests that you build and maintain: API and end-to-end suites, mobile automation, and web automation, all wired into CI so they run on every change.
- Device integration flows: Bluetooth ring pairing and on-device behavior.
- The bug lifecycle end to end: reproduce, isolate, report with transparent steps and evidence, prioritize with the team, and verify the fix.
- Release QA: build sign-off, regression cycles, and quality tracking across releases.
- Data-privacy and security checks, including that personal data is handled in line with the DPDPA, with correct consent, access, and deletion behavior.
- A close partnership with the architect and developers to build quality in rather than bolt it on.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR





- Solid QA experience across both manual and automated testing of real, shipped software.
- Mobile app testing experience, ideally with React Native apps, and web application testing.
- API testing, for example with Postman or a REST client, and a working understanding of how the back end fits together.
- Hands-on with at least one automation stack, for example Appium or Detox for mobile, Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium for web, and pytest or a similar framework.
- Comfort in CI/CD, for example GitHub Actions, and with bug tracking and test management tools such as Jira or Linear.
- Strong attention to detail, and the discipline to test methodically and document clearly.

NICE TO HAVE

- Testing real-time or streaming systems, and performance or load testing with tools such as JMeter or k6.
- Security or privacy testing experience, and familiarity with the DPDPA or comparable regimes.
- Experience testing IoT, BLE, or wearable-connected products, or enterprise and ERP systems.
- Some scripting or programming ability in Python or JavaScript beyond test frameworks.

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

- First 30 days: you know both products, have a documented test plan for the critical flows, and are already finding and filing real issues.
- By 60 days: a working automated regression suite running in CI for the highest-risk areas, including the emergency flow.
- By 90 days: releases go out with your sign-off, regressions are caught before users see them, and quality is trending up on both systems.

Full-time, based in Chennai, hybrid with regular on-site collaboration.
