Position Overview

We are looking for a hands-on ServiceNow ITAM Developer with strong technical experience in both Hardware Asset Management (HAM Pro) and Software Asset Management (SAM Pro) .

The ideal candidate should have experience configuring, customizing, developing, integrating, and supporting ServiceNow HAM Pro and SAM Pro , rather than working only in a functional or process-oriented ITAM role.

The candidate will be responsible for developing and optimizing IT Asset Management solutions, including asset lifecycle workflows, model normalization, software licensing, entitlement management, CMDB/Discovery integrations, automation, reporting, and custom ServiceNow configurations.

Key Responsibilities

1. ServiceNow HAM Pro & SAM Pro Development

- Configure, customize, and maintain ServiceNow HAM Pro and SAM Pro based on business and technical requirements.
- Develop and customize HAM Workspace and SAM Workspace functionality.
- Configure asset and software lifecycle processes, workflows, approvals, tasks, and playbooks.
- Configure and maintain hardware/software models, normalization rules, asset records, entitlements, contracts, and catalogs .
- Customize out-of-box functionality where required while following ServiceNow development best practices.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues across HAM Pro, SAM Pro, CMDB, and related ServiceNow modules.

2. Hardware Asset Management – HAM Pro

- Configure and support the complete hardware asset lifecycle:
- Procure → Receive → Stock → Deploy → Assign → Maintain → Transfer/Reclaim → Retire → Dispose .
- Configure hardware models, model categories, asset classes, lifecycle stages, and asset states.
- Configure HAM workflows, lifecycle events, playbooks, approvals, and fulfillment processes.
- Perform hardware model normalization and maintain accurate hardware inventory.
- Support asset-CI relationships and synchronization between HAM Pro, CMDB, and Discovery .
- Identify and resolve duplicate, missing, or inconsistent asset and CI records.
- Develop automation for asset assignment, reclamation, retirement, and lifecycle activities.

3. Software Asset Management – SAM Pro

- Configure and maintain ServiceNow SAM Pro functionality.
- Configure software models, publisher models, entitlements, license metrics, license compliance, and reconciliation.
- Configure and maintain software normalization and reconciliation processes.
- Support publisher packs such as Microsoft,



Oracle, Adobe, IBM , and other major software publishers.
- Configure license compliance and reclamation processes.
- Develop automation for software lifecycle, entitlement management, reclamation, and renewal workflows.
- Support complex licensing models including perpetual, subscription, SaaS, enterprise agreements, and consumption-based licensing .
- Support license optimization, true-up forecasting, and compliance reporting.

4. ServiceNow Development & Customization

- Develop and customize ServiceNow using JavaScript, Glide APIs, Business Rules, Client Scripts, Script Includes, UI Policies, UI Actions, Data Policies, ACLs, Scheduled Jobs, and Scripted REST APIs .
- Build and customize workflows using Flow Designer and other ServiceNow automation capabilities.
- Develop custom integrations using REST/SOAP APIs, IntegrationHub, MID Server , and other integration technologies.
- Configure catalog items, record producers, notifications, approvals, and fulfillment workflows.
- Create reusable scripts and components following ServiceNow development standards.
- Perform debugging, code reviews, performance optimization, and root-cause analysis.
- Minimize unnecessary customizations and use ServiceNow out-of-box functionality wherever appropriate.

5. CMDB, Discovery & Data Reconciliation

- Integrate and maintain relationships between HAM, SAM, CMDB, and Discovery .
- Troubleshoot asset-to-CI synchronization and reconciliation issues.
- Configure Discovery data mapping and identify data-quality issues affecting ITAM processes.
- Develop solutions for duplicate, missing, or inaccurate asset/CI records.
- Support reconciliation and data hygiene processes across ITAM and CMDB.
- Ensure accurate software and hardware inventory data across integrated sources.

6. Integrations & Automation

- Develop and maintain integrations between ServiceNow ITAM and external systems such as:
- Microsoft Intune
- SCCM/MECM
- Discovery
- Procurement systems
- Contract management systems
- Software/license management platforms
- Other enterprise asset data sources
- Use REST APIs, IntegrationHub, MID Server, Import Sets, Transform Maps, and Scheduled Jobs for data integration and automation.




- Automate repetitive ITAM activities and improve operational efficiency.

7. Reporting, Dashboards & Analytics

- Develop reports, dashboards, and KPIs for HAM and SAM operations.
- Create reporting around:
- Hardware inventory
- Asset lifecycle
- Software compliance
- License utilization
- License reclamation
- Cost savings
- True-up forecasting
- Asset data quality
- Utilize Performance Analytics where required.

8. ITAM Governance & Collaboration

- Work closely with ITAM, SAM, HAM, CMDB, Discovery, Procurement, Security, Infrastructure, and ServiceNow Platform teams.
- Translate business requirements into technical ServiceNow solutions.
- Document technical configurations, customizations, integrations, and operational procedures.
- Participate in testing, deployment, upgrades, and production support.
- Ensure solutions align with ITIL, CSDM, ServiceNow ITAM best practices, and organizational development standards .

Required Technical Skills

- 5+ years of ServiceNow development experience .
- Strong hands-on experience with both ServiceNow HAM Pro and SAM Pro .
- Strong experience with HAM Workspace and SAM Workspace .
- Proven experience in ServiceNow customization and configuration , not only functional ITAM operations.
- Robust ServiceNow scripting experience using:

- Strong experience with Flow Designer and IntegrationHub .

- Experience with hardware and software model normalization .
- Experience with software entitlements, license reconciliation, publisher packs, and software compliance.
- Experience integrating ServiceNow with Intune, SCCM/MECM, procurement systems, or other inventory sources .
- Strong understanding of ITAM processes and ITIL principles.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues and perform root-cause analysis.

Preferred Qualifications

- ServiceNow Certified System Administrator ( CSA ).
- ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist – Hardware Asset Management (CIS-HAM) .
- ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist – Software Asset Management (CIS-SAM) .
- ITIL 4 Foundation.
- Experience with ServiceNow upgrades, scoped applications, custom applications, and ATF .
- Experience with large enterprise ITAM implementations.
- Experience supporting software publishers such as Microsoft, Oracle, IBM, Adobe, SAP, and Autodesk .
