Servicenow CMDB Specialist - Consultant

Responsibilities

- Responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and governing the ServiceNow CMDB to ensure accurate, complete, and reliable Configuration Item (CI) data. Supports ITSM, ITOM, Change, Incident, and Service Operations aligned with ITIL and CSDM best practices.

Key Responsibilities

- Own end-to-end CMDB lifecycle management (CI creation, updates, relationships, retirement).
- Define and enforce CI standards, class models, naming conventions, and relationships.
- Perform CMDB audits, reconciliation, and health monitoring.
- Support Configuration Control Board (CCB) and change impact analysis.
- Align CMDB with Common Service Data Model (CSDM).

CMDB Health & Data Quality

- Maintain CMDB Health KPIs: Completeness, Correctness, Compliance.
- Identify and fix duplicate, stale, and orphan CIs.
- Manage CI lifecycle governance using attestation and audits.

Discovery, Service Mapping & Integrations

- Configure and support ServiceNow Discovery and Service Mapping.
- Manage data sources like SCCM, Intune, cloud platforms, and monitoring tools.
- Maintain MID Servers and resolve discovery issues.

Required Skills & Experience





- Strong hands-on experience with ServiceNow CMDB and CI Class Manager.
- Good knowledge of ITIL Configuration Management and CSDM.
- Experience with Discovery, Service Mapping, and integrations.
- 3–6+ years of ServiceNow experience (role dependent).

Required Skills & Experience ✅ Must-Have

- 4–6+ years of experience as a Developer in ServiceNow
- Hands-on exposure to:
- ITSM processes
- CMDB & CSDM fundamentals
- ITAM/ITOM concepts

- Strong understanding of:

- ITIL framework
- ServiceNow platform capabilities

✅ Positive-to-Have

- Exposure to:
- Integration use cases (REST, APIs)
- CMDB governance / data quality concepts
- Reporting / dashboards

Certifications (Preferred)

- ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) & CAD
- ITIL v4 Certification
- ServiceNow CIS (ITSM / CMDB / ITAM)

Qualifications

B-Tech/BCA/MCA Certified Application Developer (Desired)
