Senior Storage Migration EngineerJob OverviewWe are looking for a Senior Storage Migration Engineer to lead petabyte-scale enterprise storage migrations from on-premises NetApp infrastructure to AWS. The role will focus on migrating ~1 PB of data to Amazon S3 and Amazon EFS, administering Amazon FSx for NetApp ONTAP, and ensuring data integrity, security, replication, performance, and operational readiness throughout the migration lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead migration of 500 TB–1 PB+ enterprise storage from NetApp/NAS/SAN to AWS.
- Plan and execute migrations using AWS DataSync or equivalent tools, including incremental sync, cutover, checksum validation, and reconciliation.
- Design and manage Amazon S3 and EFS, including lifecycle policies, versioning, encryption, Object Lock, access controls, and Cross-Region Replication.
- Provision and administer Amazon FSx for NetApp ONTAP, including SVMs, volumes, qtrees, NFS/SMB, snapshots, SnapMirror, backup, and DR.
- Implement storage security using AWS IAM, KMS, encryption, ACLs, and enterprise retention policies.
- Automate migration, validation, and operational processes using Python/Bash and Terraform.




- Monitor storage performance and health using CloudWatch and other operational tools.
- Develop migration runbooks, documentation, and support knowledge transfer.

Required Skills & Experience
- 7+ years of storage/integration engineering experience with strong enterprise storage expertise.
- Proven experience migrating 500 TB–1 PB+ of NetApp/NAS/SAN data to AWS.
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS DataSync, S3, EFS, and FSx for NetApp ONTAP.
- Expertise in SnapMirror, NFSv4, SMB, snapshots, replication, backup, and disaster recovery.
- Strong understanding of S3 lifecycle, CRR, Object Lock, versioning, and SSE-S3/SSE-KMS.
- Strong scripting skills in Python/Bash and experience with Terraform.
- Knowledge of AWS IAM, KMS, CloudWatch, data retention, and enterprise security/compliance.

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with petabyte-scale NetApp-to-AWS migrations in production.
- Experience with FlexCache and advanced FSx ONTAP capabilities.
- Exposure to GitHub/GitLab CI/CD and container platforms.
- AWS certifications such as AWS Storage Specialty or Solutions Architect – Skilled.
