We are seeking a Senior Software Architect to design and guide the implementation of its AI-powered travel technology platform. This role involves translating business requirements into scalable technical solutions, working with various teams, and evaluating technologies to support ambitious feature roadmaps and growth. The ideal candidate will be a big-picture thinker passionate about building a world-class travel-tech platform using modern technologies.

About the Role

As a Senior Solution Architect, you will be the critical bridge between our complex product vision and its technical execution. You will design and own the architectural solutions that unify disparate hotel systems into our single, intelligent platform.

This senior role demands a strategic thinker who can define robust, scalable architectures, mentor engineering teams, and ensure our technology foundation enables rapid innovation and superior customer value.

Key Responsibilities

- Own the end-to-end architecture design for our data unification platform, ensuring alignment with business goals and technical strategy.
- Create detailed architectural blueprints, specifications, and integration patterns for connecting diverse hospitality systems (e.g., PMS, CRM, POS).
- Lead technical discovery and analysis of third-party APIs and legacy systems to design effective, reliable integration solutions.
- Collaborate closely with Engineering, Product, and Customer Success teams to translate complex requirements into actionable technical plans.
- Establish and evangelize architectural principles, standards, and best practices for scalability, security, performance, and maintainability.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to development teams, facilitating design reviews and guiding implementation.
- Proactively identify technical debt and risks, proposing and owning strategic roadmaps for system evolution.
- Act as a trusted technical advisor in key customer and partner engagements when required.

Responsibilities:
- Develop and document the overall architecture for our travel SaaS platform, including backend services, databases, APIs, and front-end integration, ensuring scalability, security, and maintainability.
- Work with data science and engineering teams to seamlessly integrate AI and machine learning components into the system architecture, designing solutions for effective interaction with user-facing applications.
- Research and recommend technologies, frameworks, and third-party services that best fit our use cases, staying abreast of new tech trends in cloud architecture and AI.
- Create prototypes or proof-of-concept implementations to validate architectural approaches or new technologies and participate in software development by contributing code.




- Collaborate closely with software engineers and DevOps to guide the practical implementation of the architecture, provide hands-on technical guidance, and review critical code or design decisions.
- Define non-functional requirements and ensure the system meets them, including optimizing for high performance, reliability, and security, in compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Produce clear architecture diagrams, design documents, and guidelines, and communicate complex architectural concepts to stakeholders in engineering, product, and management.

Key Requirements

- Proven experience as a Solution Architect, Technical Lead, or similar role in a SaaS or data-intensive product environment.
- Deep expertise in designing scalable, event-driven, and microservices-based architectures in cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Strong background in API design, integration patterns (REST, GraphQL, real-time), and data streaming technologies.
- Solid understanding of data modeling, data warehousing principles, and analytics pipelines.
- Experience with modern software development practices, DevOps, CI/CD, and infrastructure-as-code.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- A proactive, problem-solving mindset with a focus on delivering customer and business value.
- A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.

Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in software development, with at least 3-4 years in a solution architect or software architect role for complex projects or products.
- Hands-on experience building large-scale SaaS applications.
- Deep knowledge of system design and architecture principles, including proficiency in designing microservices or service-oriented architectures.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and their managed services.
- Strong understanding of web technologies, databases (SQL and NoSQL), caching, message queues, and API design.
- Solid understanding of how AI and machine learning components can be integrated into software systems, including working with data scientists on ML pipelines, data flow, model deployment, and scalability of AI services.
- Experience with SaaS products and a strong interest in travel and technology sectors.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to understand complex business requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions.
- A track record of designing systems that solved business problems in innovative ways.




- Effective communicator who can explain technical concepts to both technical teams and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience leading design discussions, conducting architecture reviews, and driving consensus on technical decisions.
- Comfortable writing comprehensive technical documentation.
- A strong advocate for best practices in software engineering (code quality, testing, DevOps).
- Familiarity with DevOps processes and infrastructure as code.

Nice to Have

- Prior experience in the hospitality, travel, or PropTech industries, with knowledge of systems like Opera, Amadeus, or similar.
- Hands-on experience with specific technologies in our stack (please refer to our tech blog or job post for current details).
- Certifications in cloud architecture (e.g., AWS Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect).
- Experience in a fast-paced startup or scale-up environment.

Nice to Have

- Experience in the travel technology domain or similar industries, including familiarity with travel-related systems (booking engines, travel APIs, GDS/CRS systems) or high-volume transactional systems.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- An advanced degree with specialization in software architecture or systems engineering.
- Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, TOGAF, or similar.
- Direct experience working on travel booking systems, itinerary planning tools, or similar travel-tech applications.
- Knowledge of industry data standards (e.g., OTA XML/JSON, Amadeus or Sabre APIs).
- Experience with performance tuning (profiling applications, database optimization, caching strategies) and designing systems for high availability (clustering, failover design, disaster recovery planning).
- Familiarity with application security standards (OWASP, GDPR for user data, etc.) and having implemented security best practices in previous projects.
- Experience in a role where you provided technical leadership or mentorship to development teams.
- Experience formally leading architecture committees or guilds.
- Demonstrated interest in innovation (e.g., contributions to open-source projects, patents, or published technical papers).
