Role Description The Senior Software Engineer will design, build, and maintain backend services and APIs that power SPNG’s learning platform. This is a full-time remote role, responsible for implementing scalable architectures, optimizing performance, and ensuring reliability and security of the application.

Day-to-day activities include writing clean, maintainable code, reviewing code from other engineers, troubleshooting production issues, and collaborating with product, design, and content teams to deliver new features.

Engineer will also contribute to technical strategy, mentor other engineers, and help improve development processes, tooling, and documentation.

Qualifications

- Strong foundation in Computer Science, including data structures, algorithms, and software architecture.
- Proficiency in Software Development and Programming, with experience delivering production-quality applications.
- Hands-on experience in Back-End Web Development, including RESTful APIs, databases, and cloud services.
- Depth in Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and designing modular, reusable, and testable code.
- Experience with version control (e.g., Git) and collaborative development workflows.
- Familiarity with up-to-date backend frameworks, CI/CD pipelines, and monitoring/logging tools.
- Ability to work effectively in a remote, cross-functional team and communicate clearly in English.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience in edtech, language learning, gaming, or culturally-focused products is a plus.
