Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Senior QC Manager to lead the Quality Control function of our precision machining facility. The candidate will be responsible for incoming raw material inspection, in-process inspection, final inspection, TPI coordination, customer inspection, QAP compliance, NCR/CAPA, quality documentation, and overall quality assurance.

The candidate should have hands-on experience with precision-machined components manufactured using HMC, VMC, CNC, CNC VTL, and related machining processes and should be comfortable working with engineering drawings, GD&T;, dimensional tolerances, material specifications, and customer-specific quality requirements.

Key Responsibilities

1. Incoming / Raw Material Quality

- Inspection and verification of incoming raw materials as per purchase specifications, drawings, and applicable standards.
- Verification of Material Test Certificates (MTC), heat numbers, material grades, and traceability.
- Coordination for raw material testing such as chemical composition, mechanical properties, hardness, and other required tests.
- Coordinate with external / approved laboratories for material testing and obtain test reports.
- Ensure proper material identification and traceability throughout the manufacturing process.

2. In-Process & Final Inspection

- Plan and supervise stage-wise, in-process, and final inspection of precision machined components.
- Inspect components manufactured on HMC, VMC, CNC, CNC VTL, and other machining equipment.
- Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T;, dimensional tolerances, surface finish requirements, and inspection specifications.
- Ensure inspection of critical dimensions and characteristics at appropriate manufacturing stages.
- Verify components using precision measuring instruments such as:
- Vernier Caliper
- Micrometers
- Bore Gauges
- Height Gauges
- Dial Indicators
- Surface Plates
- Thread Gauges
- Other precision inspection equipment

3. QAP – Quality Assurance Plan





- Understand and implement Customer QAP requirements at the shop-floor level.
- Prepare, review, and implement Internal QAP / Inspection Plans based on drawings, specifications, customer requirements, and manufacturing processes.
- Ensure all inspection stages, acceptance criteria, hold points, witness points, and documentation requirements are followed.
- Coordinate with Production and other departments to ensure compliance with QAP requirements.
- Ensure proper documentation and records are maintained as per QAP.

4. TPI & Customer Inspection

- Coordinate and manage Third Party Inspection (TPI) activities.
- Coordinate inspection schedules with TPI agencies and customer representatives.
- Ensure all required documents, inspection reports, drawings, MTCs, and quality records are available before inspection.
- Attend and support customer/TPI inspections and ensure timely clearance of components.
- Close inspection observations and ensure required corrective actions are implemented.

5. NCR, Rejection & CAPA

- Identify and control Non-Conforming Products / NCRs.
- Raise, review, and close internal and customer-related NCRs.
- Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for quality issues.
- Implement and monitor Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA).
- Track rejection, rework, and repair trends and take corrective action to reduce recurring quality issues.

6. Quality Documentation & Systems

- Prepare and maintain:
- Inspection Reports
- Final Inspection Reports
- Dimensional Inspection Reports
- Material Test Reports
- MTC Records
- QAP / Inspection Plans
- NCR Reports
- CAPA Reports
- Calibration Records
- Traceability Records
- Ensure proper control and retention of quality records.
- Maintain calibration status of all measuring and inspection instruments.
- Coordinate periodic calibration of measuring instruments through approved agencies.

7. Internal Quality Management





- Monitor and maintain the overall quality standards of the machining shop.
- Conduct internal inspections and quality audits.
- Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 / Quality Management System requirements.
- Identify process-level quality risks and implement preventive controls.
- Monitor key quality parameters such as rejection, rework, customer complaints, NCRs, and inspection performance.
- Drive continuous improvement in inspection and quality processes.

8. Team Management

- Lead and manage QC Inspectors / Quality Engineers.
- Allocate inspection responsibilities and ensure timely completion of inspections.
- Train QC personnel on drawings, measuring instruments, GD&T;, inspection procedures, and quality requirements.
- Ensure discipline and consistency in inspection practices across shifts.

Required Skills & Experience

- 5–7 years of relevant experience in Precision Machining / Heavy Engineering / CNC Machining / Manufacturing Quality.
- Strong practical experience in quality inspection of HMC, VMC, CNC and CNC VTL machined components.
- Good knowledge of engineering drawings, GD&T;, dimensional tolerances, surface finish, and machining processes.
- Experience in raw material inspection, MTC verification, material testing, and laboratory coordination.
- Strong understanding of Customer QAP and Internal QAP / Inspection Plans.
- Experience handling TPI and customer inspections.
- Positive knowledge of NCR, RCA, CAPA, rejection and rework control.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 and quality management systems.
- Good understanding of precision measuring instruments and their application.
- Strong documentation and reporting skills.
- Ability to independently manage the QC function and coordinate effectively with Production, Planning, Purchase, and Management.

Preferred Candidate Candidates from precision machining, heavy engineering, capital equipment, industrial machinery, power, steel, cement, or similar manufacturing industries will be preferred.

Salary: ₹6–8 LPA CTC, depending on experience, technical competency, and interview performance.
