We are sourcing for a leading India-based technology consultancy that builds and deploys engineering teams for client engagements across the US, Canada and EU markets. This is a full-time role, worked remotely from India on an international client engagement.

About the Role

You will own the quality of product/module end to end from reading a requirement and deciding what could break, through to signing off a release. This is a hands-on functional testing role for someone who thinks like a user, writes precise defect reports, and is comfortable being the person who says "not yet" before a production push.

You will work directly with developers, product manager(s) and rest of the team in sprint cycles, testing applications in the product domain.

What You Will Do

- Turn business and technical requirements into clear test scenarios and test cases, and flag ambiguity before development starts.
- Run functional, regression, integration, system and UAT cycles across web and mobile applications.
- Log defects with reproducible steps, evidence and severity, then drive them through to closure and retest.
- Own release sign-off decide what is ready to ship and communicate the risk of what is not.
- Build and maintain a regression suite that stays relevant as the product changes,



and identify which cases are worth automating.
- Validate data and back-end behaviour using SQL queries and API calls (Postman or similar).
- Take part in sprint planning, estimation, stand-ups and retros, and give the team a clear read on testing progress and risk.

What We Are Looking For

- 5- 8 years in software QA with robust hands-on functional and regression testing on live products.
- Test design skill you can look at a feature and systematically derive positive, negative, boundary and edge cases, not just happy-path scripts.
- Solid grasp of SDLC, STLC and the defect life cycle, with day-to-day experience of JIRA or an equivalent tracker.
- Working SQL comfortable writing joins and filters to verify data independently of the UI.
- API testing using Postman or similar: you can validate responses, status codes and payloads without a front end.
- Agile / Scrum delivery experience and the communication skills to hold your ground with developers and stakeholders.
- Proven remote working self-directed, clear in writing, and reliable at keeping distributed teammates informed without being chased.

Bonus Points

- Exposure to automation (Playwright, Selenium, Cypress or Appium) — even at a basic level. We will support you in growing this.
- Mobile testing across Android and iOS, including device/OS matrix planning.
- Performance or security testing basics (JMeter, OWASP fundamentals).
- ISTQB certification, or experience mentoring junior QA engineers.
