JD- Senior Power Electronics Engineer

Position: Senior Power Electronics Engineer

Experience: 8 to 15 Years

Location: Bangalore

Department: R&D; / Engineering

Key Responsibilities

- Design and develop power electronic products such as AC-DC converters, DC-DC converters, inverters, rectifiers, battery chargers, and power supplies.
- Perform power circuit design, schematic development, and component selection.
- Design magnetic components including transformers and inductors.
- Conduct simulations using tools such as LTspice, PSpice, MATLAB/Simulink, or PSIM.
- Develop and review PCB layouts considering thermal, EMI/EMC, creepage, and clearance requirements.
- Support prototype build, bring-up, debugging, and validation activities.
- Analyze and resolve field failures and reliability issues.
- Work closely with firmware, mechanical, manufacturing, and quality teams.
- Drive Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Design for Testability (DFT), and cost optimization activities.
- Support product certifications such as CE, UL, IEC, ATEX, and IECEx where applicable.
- Prepare design documents, test reports, and engineering change requests.
- Work with the Industrialization/NPI team to support productization, prototype build, pilot builds, production readiness, and smooth transition from design to mass production.




- Knowledge of aerospace and defense standards such as DO-160, DO-178C, and DO-254, with exposure in requirements traceability, verification & validation, design assurance, and certification support for safety-critical electronic systems.

Technical Skills Required

- Robust knowledge of:
- SMPS
- AC-DC Power Supplies
- DC-DC Converters
- Flyback, Forward, Buck, Boost, LLC Topologies
- Power Factor Correction (PFC)
- Battery Management Systems (BMS)
- Motor Drives (preferred)
- Hands-on experience in:
- Analog and Digital Circuit Design
- Power Semiconductor Selection (MOSFET, IGBT, SiC, GaN)
- Thermal Management
- EMI/EMC Design
- PCB Design Review
- Hardware Debugging and Failure Analysis
- Familiarity with:
- Altium Designer, OrCAD, Cadence, or Mentor Graphics
- Oscilloscope, Power Analyzer, Spectrum Analyzer, Electronic Load

Qualifications

- B.E./B.Tech or M.E./M.Tech in Electrical, Electronics, Power Electronics, or related field.
- 8+ years of experience in power electronics product development.
- Experience in complete product lifecycle from concept to mass production.
