Senior Migration Engineer VCF9 Migration (India Remote)

Skills: vSphere / vSAN / NSX / VCF lifecycle

Key Responsibilities

- Leads complex, high-risk migrations spanning vSphere, vSAN, NSX network cutover, and VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) lifecycle operations (upgrade, patching, workload domain management).
- Owns build validation for migrated workloads, confirming configurations conform to the Migration Architect's approved design and rollback plan before a wave is declared complete.
- Mentors Migration Engineer (Mid) staff on HCX/Zerto execution techniques, troubleshooting, and VMware best practices.
- Drives adoption of Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, PowerCLI, Ansible) deployment practices in partnership with the Automation Engineer to increase build repeatability and reduce manual configuration drift.
- Serves as the senior escalation point for complex migration issues,



performing advanced root cause analysis and performance tuning across compute, storage, and network layers.
- Partners with the Migration Architect on SDDC VCF mapping validation and flags design risk before it can impact a wave.
- Coordinates with the Network/NSX Engineer on critical-path network cutover sequencing for complex waves.
- Reviews and approves complex migration plans developed by the Migration Engineer (Mid) prior to execution.
- Generates and maintains advanced configuration and validation documentation for complex client production environments.
- Actively takes ownership of complex issues, understanding upstream/downstream impacts and designing/delivering solutions appropriately.
