Job Purpose To oversee the accounting operations across the division and provide effective oversight and assurance to the Country Head about financial controls, compliance management, risk management, and financial reporting

Key Accountabilities

Strategic

- Budget and forecast on new projects and oversee cash management for the Group
- Develop financial plans for new initiatives, business operations, commercial functions, etc. to enable achievement of objectives as per organisational goals

Financial Ensure accurate closing of books and present the reports in a timely manner

Operational

- Review of monthly, quarterly and annual Financial Reports and budget to actual cost comparison
- Develop and implement budgets in line with the Company's strategic objectives
- Prepare & review MIS Reports, profit and loss statement, analysis of change, currency impact, inflation/deflation, purchase productivity, etc.
- Continually enhance and drive region-wide annual planning and quarterly budgeting processes
- Coordinate, assist and control quality in on-time preparation of annual budgets and quarterly forecasts
- Monthly budget variance report for all Profit Centres & Cost Centers
- Comply with all local tax and legal financial reporting, filing, record keeping and remittance
- Keep informed of local tax legislation and advise corporate tax of new developments/opportunities and implement corporate tax planning initiatives
- Analyze current operating performance of assigned business units with past trends and make recommendations relating to growth and/or cost control opportunities
- Analyze & evaluate business performance from the financial/operations point of view and key business metrics to facilitate financial control in line with corporate financial objectives
- Ensure completion and of financial statements and analyze actual financial status results in comparison with forecasts




- Monitor time and expense reporting process to ensure optimal revenue and proper cost controls are maintain
- Manage and ensure that all accounting/finance related data are updated on a daily basis and information to commercial or country/corporate head are provided accurately on time
- Oversee and manage the continued development of budgeting, financial forecasting, operating plan and modeling tools
- Ensure that all Balance Sheet accounts are reconciled monthly and signed off by respective Department Heads
- Prepare and submit the analysis of the monthly closing and be proficient to provide valid supportive information about the region's results to the corporate office and the country manager
- Share finance information and business performance analysis of the region with other regional department and ensure best practices and processes are followed
- Support local auditors during the yearend activities and act as financial advisor across the Region on any new or significant projects
- Develop and maintain relationship with banks/financial institutions, landlords, insurance companies, auditors and key suppliers
- Negotiate with banks for better deals by receiving and evaluating new proposals
- Compare, review and analyze all current legal agreements for new projects
- Vet the distribution and exclusivity agreements and ensuring proper execution of the same
- Ensure all new initiatives are subject to a financial risk appraisal ensuring plans are cost effective, funding is approved and income/expenditure adequately controlled with an understanding of the implications for the whole Group
- Provide written reports, budgets, and advice as required by the Country Head in consideration of new/significant developments or investments

People Management

- Motivate staff and empower direct reports by providing the necessary tools and support required to support department goals
- Build opportunities for staff to suggest, participate in and contribute to improvement, innovation and knowledge sharing initiatives
- Ensures proper target setting and staff performance management in line with BMA's performance management guidelines
