Role Purpose:

We are seeking a Senior Integration Consultant with deep SAP PI/PO expertise to lead interface delivery for the SAP S/4HANA store rollout for the MAF Retail operating company. The consultant will own the technical design of the interface landscape connecting S/4HANA with POS, CAR, EWM, e-commerce, payment, logistics and banking systems, deliver the most complex interfaces personally, and guide the offshore integration team through build, testing, cutover and hypercare.

The ideal candidate will have 10 to 12 years of SAP integration experience centred on PI/PO, working knowledge of SAP Integration Suite and API-based integration, and must have completed at least one full greenfield SAP S/4HANA retail implementation.

Role Details - Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

Interface Architecture and Design:

- Own the technical design of the retail interface landscape, selecting the right pattern, adapter and protocol for each scenario and documenting the rationale.
- Review interface specifications for completeness and feasibility, challenge designs that create volume, latency or maintainability risk, and agree the target design with enterprise architecture.
- Define reusable frameworks for mapping, error handling, alerting and reprocessing so that every interface behaves consistently in production.

Build Leadership and Testing:

- Personally deliver the most complex interfaces in SAP PI/PO, covering ESR objects, Java and XSLT mappings, communication channels and integrated configuration.
- Allocate and track interface build across the offshore team, review delivered mappings against specification, and mentor mid and junior developers.
- Own the interface test approach, lead end-to-end integration test cycles across all connected systems, and drive defects to closure with evidence.

Connectivity, Performance and Operations:

- Lead connectivity setup with Basis, infrastructure and vendor teams, covering certificates, firewall rules,



partner profiles and secure file transfer, in line with MAF security standards.
- Size and tune the interface landscape for peak retail message volumes, including queue management, parallel processing and payload handling.
- Own interface monitoring and incident response during cutover, go-live and hypercare, coordinating with third-party providers where the fault sits outside SAP.

Governance and Knowledge Transfer:

- Serve as the offshore subject matter expert for integration throughout the rollout lifecycle, from design through store go-live and hypercare.
- Identify integration risks early, such as connectivity blockers, vendor delays, peak volume exposure or unresolved mappings, and escalate with proposed mitigations.
- Own delivery of the interface scope against the readiness plan and report status accurately to the Integration Lead and programme governance.

Stakeholder Collaboration:

- Act as the primary offshore contact for integration topics, collaborating with functional streams, enterprise architecture, ABAP developers, Basis, infrastructure and external vendors.
- Own interface documentation, runbooks and handover to the application support team, ensuring availability during UAE business hours as required.

Functional/Technical Competencies

Education:

- Bachelor s/master s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.

Experience:

- 10 to 12 years of SAP integration experience with deep hands-on SAP PI/PO delivery, including single-stack Java implementations.
- Mandatory:



at least one complete greenfield SAP S/4HANA retail implementation delivered end to end, from design through go-live, with proven expertise in retail interface scenarios such as POS sales upload, inventory messaging and payment settlement at volume.
- Track record leading an integration team: work allocation, estimation, design review and mentoring.
- Experience owning the interface scope through testing, cutover, go-live and hypercare on multi-site rollouts.

Technical Skills:

- Deep PI/PO skills: ESR and Integration Directory design, message, Java and XSLT mappings, value mappings, and integrated configuration.
- Adapter expertise across IDoc, RFC, SOAP, REST, OData, SFTP, JDBC and JMS, with secure connectivity and certificate management.
- Working knowledge of SAP Integration Suite / Cloud Integration, API Management and BTP-based integration patterns.
- Familiarity with retail components such as SAP CAR, POS DM, IS-Retail and EWM, and with interface monitoring and reprocessing tooling.

Soft Skills:

- Excellent written and spoken English, with the confidence to challenge designs and coordinate external vendors remotely.
- Leadership and mentoring ability, with a disciplined approach to tracing message failures end to end.
- Ability to lead under pressure through cutover weekends and fixed store opening deadlines, working offshore with overlap to UAE business hours.

Preferred Qualifications:

- SAP PI/PO or SAP Integration Suite Certification.
- Experience leading integration for high-volume, multi-location retail SAP rollouts delivered from an offshore location.
- Familiarity with Agile or hybrid methodologies, SAP Activate, and tools such as Jira or Solution Manager.
