About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Backend Engineer with deep expertise in serverless architectures to design, build, and maintain our core cloud services. In this role, you will take ownership of our backend ecosystem, leveraging Node.js and TypeScript to deploy high-performance, event-driven applications on AWS Lambda. You will play a key role in driving architecture decisions, ensuring type safety, and optimizing our serverless infrastructure for maximum efficiency and scalability.

Core Responsibilities

- Design, develop, and maintain scalable microservices using TypeScript and Node.js.
- Architect and deploy production-grade serverless components running on AWS Lambda.
- Provision and manage cloud infrastructure as code (IaC) using AWS CDK, SAM, or Serverless Framework.
- Build robust, event-driven integrations using API Gateway, SQS, SNS, and EventBridge.
- Optimize Lambda function performance, focusing on bundle size reduction, memory tuning, and cold-start mitigation using esbuild or Webpack.
- Establish structured logging, monitoring, and distributed tracing across microservices.




- Write clean, secure, and type-safe code while maintaining strong unit and integration test coverage.
- Lead code reviews, mentor team members, and drive backend engineering best practices.

Required Experience & Technical Skills
- 5–6 years of professional experience in backend software development.
- Extensive production experience building applications with Node.js and modern TypeScript.
- Deep hands-on experience architectural mapping and deploying production workloads onto AWS Lambda.
- Proficient with modern bundling tools (e.g., esbuild) and configuring strict type-safety via tsconfig.json.
- Strong knowledge of event-driven architectures, asynchronous messaging systems, and NoSQL databases (specifically DynamoDB).
- Proven track record of managing infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tooling.
- Experience setting up and optimizing automated CI/CD deployment pipelines.

Nice-to-Have Skills
- Experience with runtime monitoring tools like Powertools for AWS Lambda or AWS X-Ray.
- Familiarity with schema validation libraries such as Zod or Joi.
- Experience migrating legacy monolithic backend services into modern serverless microservices.
