Roles & responsibilities
Responsible for service delivery and ensuring the quality and timely delivery of Independence requests undertaken by self and by team members; Serve as a performance manager for a group (3-7) professionals.
Apply a thorough understanding of the applicable independence rules and regulations related to executing independence review procedures.
Perform detailed affiliate evaluations, including identifying affiliates, non-affiliates, and controlled non-affiliates during the independence review. Correctly construct affiliate trees in KPMG’s proprietary independence compliance system.
Apply a deep level of understanding of the permissibility of non-audit services provided to an audit client and/or its affiliates. Conduct a review of active services, assess their permissibility, and participate in conversations with stakeholders regarding the permissibility of the service under the appropriate independence standards with minimal oversight and escalations.
Project manage the clearance process, including the deliverables, service and affiliate evaluation for assigned independence reviews.
Maintain the relationship between the GDC clearance team and the US Independence Clearance Team.
Supervise and execute tasks of priority to team projects and processes; manage a queue of multiple tasks that have both long- and short-term deadlines for yourself and junior team members.
Oversee, mentor, and coach junior team members and monitor their work on team projects and aid in their professional development. Proactively escalate issues, as appropriate.
Regularly interface with US Independence Clearance Team management-level professionals to define the scope of procedures that need to be completed. Maintain responsibility for the end-to-end execution and documentation of the clearance process.
Perform the initial review of the clearance deliverables of more junior team members to provide reviewer-ready materials that require little to no comments.
Identify opportunities for innovation within executed tasks, processes and projects that contribute to the improved efficiency and effectiveness of the team. Actively engage in business and independence-specific knowledge development initiatives.
Provide the ideal client experience (ICX) with the performance of day-to-day clearance activities.

Mandatory technical & functional skills
Advanced knowledge of Independence rules and regulations and understanding the various Scope of Services
IT literacy with sound knowledge and experience of Excel/ Word/ PowerPoint
Qualifications
This role is for you if you have the below
Educational qualifications
Post-Graduation from an accredited college or university (MBA/M. Com)
Work experience
6 to 8 years of risk management/independence and/or financial statement auditing experience preferred
Significant experience in New audit client clearances in a must.
