We are expanding our supply chain technology leadership team at Owens & Minor! We are seeking a highly experienced, hands-on SAP WM/EWM Consultant to independently drive large-scale warehouse and supply chain transformation projects from conception to go-live and hyper care support. This role requires deep expertise in SAP WM/EWM, a strong ownership mindset, excellent communication skills, and the ability to independently manage critical supply chain initiatives across procurement, warehouse, inventory, logistics, and integration landscapes.
Key Responsibilities
- End-to-End Project Execution: Lead end-to-end SAP WM/EWM implementations, rollouts, support, and enhancement projects single-handedly with minimal supervision.
- Strategic Solution Ownership: Independently drive project discussions with business stakeholders, leadership teams, warehouse operations, and IT teams. Act as a solution owner for SAP WM-related initiatives,
providing strategic recommendations and analyzing business processes for warehouse and procurement optimization.
- Comprehensive Configuration & Support: Configure and support Inventory Management, Logistics Invoice Verification, Warehouse Management, RF processes, Put away & Picking strategies, Storage Unit Management, Batch Management, and Handling Unit Management.
- Core Logistics & Inventory Operations: Support inbound, outbound, replenishment, cycle counting, physical inventory, shipping, Stock Transfer Orders (STO), and delivery processing.
- System Integration & EDI: Work on integration between SAP and external WMS/3PL systems. Coordinate with EDI and middleware teams for interface design, issue resolution, and enhancements.
- Custom Development & Quality Assurance: Prepare functional specifications and coordinate with ABAP developers for custom developments. Lead SIT, UAT, defect management, cutover planning, and production support activities.
- Continuous Improvement & Documentation: Drive process improvements, automation initiatives, and create project documentation, SOPs, training materials, and knowledge transfer assets. Act as a primary point of contact for SAP WM-related escalations and critical issue resolution.
Role Expectations
- Ownership: Proactive ownership mindset to drive critical business issues under tight timelines with minimal supervision.
- Stakeholder Management: Proven experience driving workshops, discussions, and meetings, managing customer expectations, and handling stakeholder communications effectively.
- Production Support: Experience leading,
triaging all Production support issues and managing them effectively and taking ownership of all issues assigned.
Required Skills & Experience
- Experience Baseline: 8-10 + years of strong SAP MM and SAP WM implementation/support experience across SAP ECC and SAP S/4HANA environments.
- Functional Expertise: Hands-on experience in Inventory Management, Warehouse operations, RF transactions, batch & serial management, and delivery processing.
- Technical & Integration Skills: Strong technical troubleshooting and debugging capability, along with extensive experience with IDocs, EDI integrations, and interfaces with external WMS/3PL systems.
- Core Understanding: Solid understanding of inbound & outbound logistics, STO processes, physical inventory, and cycle counting.
- Industry Preferences: Preferred background in healthcare distribution, retail, manufacturing, or large supply chain environments.
- Education & Certifications: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Information Technology, Supply Chain, or related field. SAP certification in MM, WM, or EWM is preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
- SAP MM Exposure: Experience with SAP MM is a strong plus.
- Automation & Optimization: Exposure to automation and warehouse optimization initiatives.
- Integration Technologies: Knowledge of SAP CPI/BTP integration is preferred.
- Large Distribution Operations: Experience working with large distribution centers and 3PL operations is advantageous.
