Job Title: SDE 2 Android

Location: Bangalore

What you will do:





- Responsible for the development and maintenance of applications aimed at a vast number of diverse Android devices.
- Own Android features and modules end-to-end, from technical design and implementation to release and production support.
- Build scalable, reusable, maintainable, and reliable mobile solutions using Kotlin and modern Android development practices.
- Translate product requirements and designs into robust technical solutions while considering performance, reliability, and maintainability.
- Integrate Android applications with backend services using REST APIs, Retrofit/OkHttp, and other communication mechanisms as required.
- Work closely with Product, Design, Backend, QA, and other engineering teams to deliver end-to-end product experiences.
- Profile and optimize application performance, startup time, memory usage, networking, rendering, and battery consumption where applicable.
- Write and maintain unit tests and contribute to improving code quality and reliability.

Who you are:

- 4–6 years of professional experience in Android application development.
- Strong hands-on experience with Kotlin and the Android SDK.
- Solid understanding of Android application lifecycle, UI development, and core Android concepts.
- Good understanding of application architecture and design patterns such as MVVM.




- Hands-on experience with Jetpack Compose and modern Android UI development.
- Strong working knowledge of Kotlin Coroutines and asynchronous programming; experience with Flow is preferred.
- Experience integrating applications with RESTful APIs using Retrofit/OkHttp.
- Good understanding of threading, concurrency, memory management, and Android performance optimization.
- Experience debugging and resolving production issues including crashes, ANRs, memory leaks, and performance bottlenecks.
- Experience with Git, pull requests, and cooperative software development practices.
- Experience writing unit tests.
- Experience with WebSockets, real-time communication, push notifications, and deep linking is a plus.
- Experience with KMP is a plus.
