About the Role:
We are looking for an SDE 2/3 + Senior Technical Instructor – Data Structures & Algorithms (DSA) to join our Computer Science Department.
This is an academic-focused technical role for professionals who bring a solid combination of DSA expertise, software engineering experience, teaching/mentoring ability, and academic depth.
The ideal candidate will have an M.Tech or PhD along with strong expertise in Data Structures, Algorithms, Problem Solving, and Core Computer Science. The role involves teaching foundational and advanced DSA concepts, conducting hands-on coding labs, mentoring students, and preparing them for competitive programming, technical interviews, and real-world engineering challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
Course Development & Delivery
- Design and deliver engaging lectures, coding sessions, and practical labs on Data Structures, Algorithms, Problem Solving, and Algorithm Analysis.
- Teach both foundational concepts and advanced algorithmic problem-solving techniques.
- Develop structured course content, assignments, coding exercises, and assessments.
Algorithmic Foundations
- Teach algorithmic paradigms including:
- Brute Force
- Greedy Algorithms
- Divide & Conquer
- Dynamic Programming
- Backtracking
- Branch & Bound
- Graph Algorithms
- Searching, Sorting and Optimization
- Explain time and space complexity and help students develop efficient problem-solving approaches.
Lab & Problem-Solving Mentorship
- Lead coding and problem-solving labs where students implement, debug, analyse and optimise algorithms.
- Mentor students on structured thinking, debugging,
optimisation and solving problems under constraints.
- Help students prepare for technical interviews, competitive programming and coding competitions.
Academic Excellence & Student Success
- Review assignments, coding submissions, projects, and assessments.
- Provide continuous and actionable feedback to improve student performance.
- Identify high-potential students and mentor them toward advanced problem-solving and competitive programming.
Industry & Academic Integration
- Bridge academic fundamentals with real-world software engineering practices.
- Bring relevant industry examples, engineering problems, and practical use cases into the classroom.
- Collaborate with faculty, curriculum designers, and industry mentors to continuously improve course quality.
Research & Innovation
- Encourage students to participate in competitive programming, research projects, open-source contributions, and coding competitions.
- Support research-oriented problem-solving and algorithmic exploration.
- Contribute to academic initiatives, technical communities, and knowledge-sharing sessions.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Collaborate with university leadership, faculty members, and industry partners.
- Participate in technical workshops, masterclasses, hackathons, coding contests, and academic events.
- Contribute to building a strong Computer Science academic and technical community.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- M.Tech / PhD in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Mathematics, Information Technology, or a closely related discipline.
- 6+ years of relevant experience across software engineering, technical teaching, competitive programming, research, or algorithm-focused problem-solving.
- Strong proficiency in at least one programming language such as C++, Java, or Python.
- Strong command of:

- Core Computer Science
- Solid understanding of algorithmic paradigms and their practical applications.
- Ability to explain complex technical concepts in a clear, structured, and approachable manner.
- Comfortable teaching both conceptual theory and hands-on coding.
- Strong interest in teaching, mentoring, and student development.
Preferred Background
We are particularly interested in candidates with one or more of the following:
- M.Tech from a reputed institute/university with strong DSA/CS fundamentals.
- PhD in Computer Science / AI / Mathematics / related areas, particularly with research or publications in algorithms, theoretical CS, AI/ML, or related domains.
- Software engineering experience at SDE 2/SDE 3 or equivalent level.
- Prior experience teaching or mentoring students at universities, colleges, coding academies, bootcamps, or corporate training programs.
- Competitive programming background — ICPC, Codeforces, CodeChef, LeetCode, or similar.
- Experience designing problem sets, coding contests, technical assessments, or interview questions.
- Experience mentoring students for technical interviews or competitive programming.
- Contributions to open-source projects, technical blogs, research publications, or developer communities.
- Strong academic-industry collaboration experience.
