The SAP Executive will be responsible for ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant SAP transactions related to manufacturing operations, Work-in-Progress (WIP), inventory movements, and material consumption. The role will also support inventory accuracy through cycle counting, reconciliation, transaction monitoring, and adherence to defined SAP and inventory control processes.
The position requires close coordination with Production, Stores, Quality, Planning, Supply Chain, Finance, and other cross-functional teams to maintain accurate system inventory and ensure transaction discipline across the manufacturing process.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
1. Manufacturing SAP Transactions
- Execute and monitor SAP transactions related to manufacturing and production activities.
- Perform timely and accurate posting of production-related transactions.
- Support material issue, consumption, transfer, return, and receipt transactions as per approved processes.
- Ensure production orders and related transactions are completed accurately and within defined timelines.
- Coordinate with Production and Planning teams to resolve transaction-related discrepancies.
- Monitor incomplete, pending, incorrect, or delayed SAP transactions and ensure timely closure.
- Ensure proper documentation and traceability for all manufacturing transactions.
2. WIP Inventory Management
- Monitor and maintain accurate WIP inventory records in SAP.
- Reconcile physical WIP with SAP system balances on a regular basis.
- Identify ageing, excess, blocked, obsolete, or unidentified WIP inventory.
- Coordinate with Production, Planning, Quality, and Stores for resolution of WIP discrepancies.
- Support periodic WIP verification and reconciliation activities.
- Ensure appropriate movement and status updates of semi-finished and WIP material.
- Prepare and maintain WIP inventory reports for management review.
3. Inventory Management
- Ensure accuracy of inventory transactions including:
- Goods Receipt
- Goods Issue
- Material Transfer
- Material Return
- Production Receipt
- Scrap Transactions
- Stock Adjustments as per authorization
- Monitor system inventory versus physical inventory and initiate reconciliation where required.
- Support identification and correction of transaction errors.
- Ensure material movements are properly recorded and supported by relevant documentation.
- Coordinate with Stores and Production teams to maintain inventory accuracy.
4. Cycle Count & Physical Inventory
- Plan and execute cycle counting activities as per the defined inventory control plan.
- Coordinate physical verification of Raw Material, WIP, Semi-Finished Goods, and Finished Goods.
- Compare physical inventory with SAP inventory.
- Investigate inventory variances and coordinate corrective actions.
- Ensure proper approval and documentation for inventory adjustments.
- Track recurring inventory discrepancies and support root cause analysis.
- Prepare cycle count reports and inventory accuracy dashboards.
- Support monthly, quarterly, and annual physical stock verification.
5. SAP Compliance & Transaction Governance
- Ensure all SAP transactions are performed in accordance with approved SOPs and work instructions.
- Maintain discipline regarding transaction timing and transaction accuracy.
- Prevent unauthorized or incorrect inventory postings.
- Ensure compliance with approval processes for inventory adjustments and reversals.
- Support internal and external audit requirements related to SAP transactions and inventory records.
- Maintain supporting documents and transaction records for audit traceability.
- Identify process gaps and recommend improvements to strengthen SAP transaction controls.
6. Reconciliation & MIS Reporting
- Perform regular reconciliation of:
- SAP Stock vs Physical Stock
- WIP Stock vs Production Status
- Material Consumption vs Production Output
- Production Orders vs Material Transactions
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly SAP transaction and inventory reports.
- Highlight pending transactions, discrepancies, abnormal consumption, and inventory variances.
- Support MIS preparation for Manufacturing and Operations management.
- Monitor transaction ageing and ensure timely closure.
7. Cross-Functional Coordination
- Work closely with Production, Stores, Planning, Quality, Finance, and Supply Chain teams.
- Provide support for resolving SAP transaction-related issues.
- Conduct regular follow-ups for pending or incorrect transactions.
- Support implementation of process improvements and system discipline across manufacturing operations.
- Assist in SAP process training and awareness for shop-floor and operational teams.

- Reduction in manual corrections and transaction reversals.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma / ITI Engineering, Commerce, Supply Chain, Operations, or related discipline.
- SAP knowledge with exposure to Manufacturing and Inventory Management processes.
- Valuable understanding of manufacturing processes and material flow.
Experience 2–4 years of experience in:
- SAP manufacturing transactions.
- Production / shop-floor transaction management.
- WIP inventory control.
- Inventory management and reconciliation.
- Cycle counting and physical stock verification.
- Manufacturing or industrial operations.
Experience in an aerospace, automotive, electronics, engineering, or discrete manufacturing environment will be an added advantage. Required Skills & Competencies
