Job Summary
UNIKraft Techno LLP is looking for an experienced Robotics Manager – Robotic Welding & Automation with 10+ years of hands-on experience in industrial robotics, robotic welding and automation.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading robotic automation projects, managing robot programming and integration activities, supervising commissioning and troubleshooting, and providing technical leadership to the robotics team.
The candidate should have strong practical experience with ABB and/or FANUC industrial robots, robotic welding applications, robot programming, simulation, cell integration and customer-site commissioning.
This is a hands-on managerial position requiring both technical expertise and the ability to lead a team and manage project execution.
Key Responsibilities
Robotics & Technical Responsibilities
- Lead the development and implementation of robotic welding and automation solutions.
- Program, teach, modify and optimize industrial robots for various automation applications.
- Work extensively with ABB and/or FANUC industrial robots.
- Develop and optimize robot paths, programs, sequences and cycle times.
- Handle robot teaching, programming, debugging and troubleshooting.
- Develop and validate robot programs using offline programming and simulation software.
- Configure and synchronize robots with positioners, external axes and other automation equipment.
- Integrate robots with PLCs, sensors, safety systems, welding systems, conveyors and other automation components.
- Optimize robotic welding parameters, torch paths and robot movements to improve quality and productivity.
- Troubleshoot robot, welding, electrical, automation and process-related problems.
- Review technical drawings, process requirements and customer specifications.
- Support development, testing and validation of complete robotic cells.
- Lead robot installation, commissioning and customer trials.
Team Management
- Lead and manage the robotics engineering/programming team.
- Allocate work and monitor project activities to ensure timely completion.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior and senior robot engineers.
- Review robot programs, project progress and technical deliverables.
- Develop standard practices for robot programming, testing, commissioning and troubleshooting.
- Coordinate with mechanical, electrical, PLC, controls and project engineering teams.
- Support recruitment, training and development of robotics team members where required.
Project & Customer Responsibilities
- Take technical ownership of robotic automation projects from concept through commissioning and handover.
- Coordinate with project managers and other engineering teams for smooth project execution.
- Participate in customer discussions to understand application and technical requirements.
- Lead customer-site installation, commissioning, troubleshooting and acceptance activities.
- Resolve technical issues during project execution and provide effective solutions.
- Conduct customer trials and support final machine acceptance.
- Train customer operators and maintenance personnel on robot operation and troubleshooting.
- Prepare and maintain robot backups, technical documentation, commissioning reports and project records.
- Travel to customer locations across India and, when required, overseas.
Required Skills & Experience
- 10+ years of relevant experience in industrial robotics and automation.
- Strong hands-on experience with ABB and/or FANUC robots.
- Proven experience in robotic welding applications.
- Strong knowledge of robot programming, teaching, debugging and troubleshooting.
- Experience with robot simulation/offline programming software such as ABB RobotStudio, FANUC ROBOGUIDE or equivalent.
- Good understanding of robotic welding systems, welding equipment, positioners and external axes.
- Strong knowledge of robot and PLC integration.
- Understanding of PLCs, sensors, I/O, safety systems and industrial automation.
- Experience in robotic cell integration and commissioning.
- Ability to read and understand mechanical and electrical drawings.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Experience managing and guiding a technical engineering team.
- Good project coordination and customer-handling skills.
- Strong communication and leadership abilities.
- Willingness to travel for customer projects, installation and commissioning.
Educational Qualification B.E./B.Tech or Diploma in:
- Robotics
- Mechatronics
- Mechanical Engineering

- Or a related engineering discipline
