Job Title: Retail Pharmacist

Location: Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu

Role Overview The Retail Pharmacist oversees daily dispensary and retail counter operations, ensuring safe dispensing, regulatory adherence under the Tamil Nadu Pharmacy Council (TNPC), accurate stock handling, and supportive patient counseling.

Key Responsibilities

Prescription Dispensing: Verify doctor prescriptions for valid dosage, contraindications, and drug interactions before dispensing medications accurately.

Patient Guidance: Counsel customers clearly on proper medication intake, storage instructions, potential side effects, and precautions in Tamil and English.

Billing & Point of Sale (POS): Generate customer bills using pharmacy management software, process cash and digital payments, and reconcile end-of-day register totals.

Inventory & Expiry Control: Track stock movement, conduct routine cycle audits, handle inward receipts, and remove short-expiry or expired medicines promptly.

Statutory Compliance: Maintain mandatory Schedule H, H1, and X registers in compliance with the Drugs and Cosmetics Act and state pharmacy council guidelines.

Cold-Chain Management:



Monitor and document daily temperatures for vaccines, insulin, and thermolabile items.

Candidate Profile & Qualifications

Education: Diploma in Pharmacy (D.Pharm) or Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) from a PCI-recognized institution.

Licensing: Active Registered Pharmacist license with the Tamil Nadu State Pharmacy Council (TNPC) is mandatory.

Experience: 0–4 years in community or retail pharmacy setups (freshers with active council registration welcome).

Language Proficiency: Fluency in Tamil (spoken) is essential for local customer communication; working knowledge of English (reading prescriptions and billing).

Technical Skills: Familiarity with pharmacy billing systems, inventory scanning tools, and basic computer applications.

Working Conditions

Shift-based schedule including rotational morning/evening coverage and weekend turns.

On-site counter standing and routine stock shelf handling.

Pay: ₹18,220.95 - ₹30,550.27 per month
