Hirely is recruiting on behalf of a hiring partner for Research Engineers and experienced software developers for a specialized AI training project focused on code generation and AI model evaluation .

You’ll work on real-world coding problems, debug and improve codebases, develop features, and evaluate AI-generated solutions. No prior AI experience is required, robust software engineering and problem-solving expertise are what matter.

What You'll Do

- Analyze, debug, and resolve issues across diverse codebases
- Work with Python3, Java, Rust, C++, Go, or TypeScript
- Implement new features and enhancements
- Refactor code to improve maintainability and adaptability
- Optimize code for performance and efficiency
- Develop and review coding tasks designed to evaluate AI models
- Assess AI-generated code for correctness, quality, and accuracy
- Write clear feedback and annotations to support AI model training
- Analyze complex problem constraints and evaluate multiple solution approaches
- Collaborate with open-source contributors and technical stakeholders
- Document technical decisions, solutions, and best practices
- Validate code and outputs with strong attention to detail

Who We're Looking For

- Strong competitive programming and coding problem-solving skills
- Expertise in at least one of: Python3, Java, Rust, C++, Go, TypeScript
- Strong knowledge of algorithms and data structures
- Proven open-source contributions or experience with collaborative software projects




- Strong debugging and code-analysis abilities
- Experience with feature implementation, refactoring, and optimization
- Ability to evaluate different technical solutions objectively
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Strong attention to code correctness and output consistency
- Comfortable working independently in a remote environment
- Able to produce high-quality, well-documented work under deadlines
- AI/LLM evaluation experience is a plus, but not required

Compensation & Terms

- $50-$100/hour
- Remote contractor prospect
- Selected experts are expected to start within 24-48 hours after onboarding
