Academic Teaching and Curriculum Delivery
- Plan and deliver lectures, tutorials, seminars, and demonstrations related to renal sciences and dialysis technology.
- Prepare lesson plans, teaching schedules, presentations, and other instructional materials.
- Explain renal anatomy, physiology, pathology, nephrological conditions, and principles of renal replacement therapy.
- Ensure teaching is aligned with the approved curriculum, syllabus, and academic calendar.
- Integrate theoretical knowledge with clinical applications and evidence-based practice.
Practical and Clinical Training
- Conduct practical classes and skill demonstrations in dialysis technology.
- Supervise students during clinical postings in the dialysis unit and related clinical areas.
- Demonstrate dialysis machine preparation, extracorporeal circuit setup, and routine dialysis procedures within the approved scope of practice.
- Teach principles of patient preparation, monitoring, documentation, and post-dialysis care.
- Provide supervised training in the recognition and appropriate escalation of dialysis-related complications.
- Ensure students follow infection prevention, patient identification, occupational safety, and clinical protocols.
Student Assessment and Mentoring
- Prepare assignments, internal assessment activities, practical examinations, and question papers as assigned.
- Evaluate student performance using approved assessment methods and maintain assessment records.
- Conduct viva voce, case discussions, practical demonstrations, and skill-based evaluations.
- Monitor student attendance, academic progress, clinical competencies, and professional conduct.
- Provide academic guidance, mentoring, feedback, and remedial support to students.
- Maintain student logbooks, clinical posting records, and competency assessment documentation.
Dialysis Unit and Patient Safety Responsibilities
- Coordinate with the Nephrology Department and dialysis-unit personnel for student clinical training.
- Reinforce safe practices related to dialysis equipment, vascular access, infection control, and patient monitoring.
- Educate students regarding emergency procedures, including recognition of hypotension, disequilibrium-related symptoms, bleeding, and other dialysis-associated complications.
- Ensure students do not independently perform procedures beyond their authorized level of training or institutional scope.
- Report clinical incidents, unsafe practices, equipment concerns, or student safety issues through the prescribed reporting mechanism.
- Support compliance with hospital policies, patient confidentiality requirements, and qualified ethics.
Research and Academic Development
- Participate in departmental research, academic projects, and scholarly activities.
- Guide students in case studies, academic presentations, and research projects within the approved scope.
- Encourage evidence-based learning and critical appraisal of relevant literature.
- Participate in conferences, workshops, continuing education programmes, and faculty development activities.
- Contribute to curriculum review, teaching innovations, and academic quality improvement.
Academic Administration and Quality Assurance
- Maintain lesson plans, attendance registers, academic files, practical records, and other departmental documentation.
- Assist in preparing timetables, clinical posting schedules, examination schedules, and departmental reports.
- Participate in internal audits, academic reviews, accreditation activities, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Support compliance with the requirements of the affiliating university and applicable statutory or regulatory authorities.
- Attend departmental meetings and undertake assigned academic responsibilities.
- Ensure timely submission of academic reports and other records to the HOD or designated authority.
Professional Conduct and Institutional Responsibilities
- Maintain professional discipline, punctuality, and confidentiality.
- Follow the institution’s Code of Conduct, HR policies, and applicable hospital procedures.
- Promote respectful communication and professional behaviour among students and colleagues.
- Participate in institutional training, emergency preparedness, and patient safety programmes as assigned.
- Perform any other duties relevant to the post as assigned by the competent authority.
Pay: ₹30,000.00 per month
