About the Project
We are building a new relationship-management (CRM-style) business application on Quickbase for a US-based client, in their existing Quickbase environment.
Typical functionality includes
- Organizations, locations and contacts
- Activity logging and follow-up task management
- A multi-stage pipeline with stage history and conversion reporting
- Recurring data imports from external files, with record matching and reconciliation
- Manager dashboards and KPIs, automated notifications, and role-based permissions
You will be part of a small WalkingTree team working directly with the client's business users and leadership.
What You'll Do
- Design and build Quickbase tables, relationships, fields, forms and reports based on documented requirements
- Build summary, lookup and formula fields to calculate things like last-activity dates, pipeline aging and roll-up totals
- Set up Quickbase Pipelines and automations for reminders, alerts and follow-up task creation
- Import and clean existing business data, including matching records and producing exception reports for anything that doesn't match
- Build repeatable import processes for recurring external data files
- Create dashboards and reports for managers, staff and finance users
- Configure user roles and permissions, including restricting sensitive financial fields
- Join discovery and working sessions with US stakeholders to clarify requirements, demo progress and gather feedback
- Document the data model, automations and admin procedures so the client can maintain the app
Must-Have Skills
- 2+ years of hands-on Quickbase development: tables, relationships, forms, reports and role permissions
- Comfort with Quickbase formula fields, summary and lookup fields
- Working experience with Quickbase Pipelines or automations
- Solid understanding of relational data modeling (parent/child records, avoiding duplicate data)
- Experience importing and cleaning data from Excel/CSV files
- Valuable spoken and written English and confidence working directly with US business users
Nice-to-Have Skills We don't expect one person to have all of these. Any of them will make a candidate stronger.
- Experience building CRM, sales pipeline or relationship-management apps (on Quickbase, Salesforce, Zoho, Dynamics or similar)
- Quickbase API, webhooks, JavaScript or code pages
- Email integration with Outlook / Microsoft 365, or email templates within Quickbase
- Data matching and de-duplication techniques
- Financial reconciliation or commission tracking
- Quickbase certification (Builder or Expert)
- Dashboard and KPI design experience
What Success Looks Like
- First week: review the requirements, get access to the Quickbase environment and start building the core tables and relationships
- By week 2: organizations, locations and contacts working, with the data model confirmed with the team
- By weeks 4–6: pipeline, activity and task features in the client's hands; existing data imported
- Ongoing: import, reconciliation and dashboard features delivered, with the client team able to administer the app themselves

- Direct exposure to a US client and their leadership
