A Quality Head in an auto-component (auto comp) manufacturing company leads the entire quality assurance and quality control departments to ensure zero-defect production and strict adherence to automotive standards.
Core Job Responsibilities
- Quality Management Systems (QMS): Develop, implement, and maintain quality frameworks aligned with automotive standards like IATF 16949 and ISO 9001.
- New Product Quality Planning: Lead APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning), PPAP (Production Part Approval Process), and PFMEA (Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) during current launches.
- Process Control & Defect Prevention: Own statistical tools including SPC (Statistical Process Control), MSA (Measurement Systems Analysis), and poka-yoke error-proofing implementations on the shop floor.
- Supplier Quality Assurance: Evaluate and develop suppliers through audits and incoming material quality controls to lower external parts rejection.
- Customer Quality & Problem Solving: Handle customer complaints, manage PPM (Parts Per Million)
reduction goals, and drive root-cause analysis using 8D methodology, 5-Why, and fishbone diagrams.
- Audits & Compliance: Conduct internal process audits, layer audits, and prepare the plant for external customer and regulatory inspections.
- Continuous Improvement: Drive lean practices, Kaizen, and Six Sigma initiatives to reduce the Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ).
- Team Leadership: Mentor quality control engineers, metrology staff, and cross-functional shop-floor teams.
Pay: ₹50,000.00 - ₹60,000.00 per month
