Role: Quality Head

Location: Medchal, Telengana

Duration: Full Time

Key Responsibilities:

Quality Systems & RDSO Compliance

- Ensure strict compliance with RDSO specifications for ERC clips, plastic components.
- Develop and maintain QAP (Quality Assurance Programme) approved by RDSO, covering both ERC and Plastic Component manufacturing.
- Ensure compliance with Vendor Approval & Renewal process as per RDSO vendor directory.
- Coordinate with RDSO for type approval, routine inspection, and qualification testing
- Conduct and oversee all RDSO-specified tests: chemical & mechanical properties, hardness, fatigue, toe load, dimensional accuracy, and surface crack detection.
- Ensure forging, heat treatment, and metallurgical integrity are consistently maintained.

Raw Material Checking
- Approve suppliers based on lab trials, pilot runs, and process compatibility. Ensure compliance with BIS, standards and internal specifications.
- Supervise lab testing protocols: Micro Structure, UTM,, and spectrometry.
- Oversee incoming raw material testing (e.g., PP, ABS, Nylon, PC blends) for mechanical, thermal, and chemical properties. Ensure compliance with ASTM, ISO, and OEM-specific standards.
- Manage lab equipment: UTM, DSC, TGA, MFI testers, spectrophotometers, and environmental chambers.
- Validate new material grades and additives through structured trials and performance benchmarking.
- Ensure traceability of raw material batches, injection molding parameters, and test results.
- Maintain lot-wise test reports and ensure compliance with RDSOs acceptance & rejection criteria.

Audits & Approvals

- Ensure readiness for RDSO inspections, QAP audits, and routine verifications.
- Prepare and submit type test reports, routine test data,



and creep/wear test results for liners and ERC clips.
- Ensure non-conformance (NCs) from RDSO or customer audits are closed within specified timelines.

Key Skills & Competencies:

- Strong knowledge of ERC Clip forging & heat treatment processes.
- Familiarity with RDSOs Quality Assurance Manual, Vendor Approval Guidelines, and Track Component Specifications.
- Proficiency in APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, MSA, and railway component quality tools.
- Solid analytical, leadership, and team-building capabilities.

Supplier Quality Management

- Approve and monitor suppliers for spring steel (for ERCs) and Nylon-66 with 3035% Glass Filled material
- Verify supplier TCs (Test Certificates) and conduct periodic audits to ensure RDSO compliance.
- Define and execute Supplier Quality Assurance (SQA) programs.
- Conduct supplier audits, process capability studies, and initial sample inspections.
- Collaborate with SCM and R&D; for supplier onboarding, material trials, and cost-quality optimization.
- Monitor supplier KPIs: PPM levels, on-time delivery, and response to NCRs.

Data-Driven Quality Management
- Implement Statistical Process Control (SPC) and trend analysis for critical parameters.
- Use MS Excel, Google Sheets, and ERP systems to track quality metrics and generate dashboards.
- Present monthly quality reviews to leadership and customers.

Team Leadership & Training
- Build and mentor a high-performing quality team: engineers, inspectors, lab technicians.
- Conduct training on quality tools, problem-solving techniques, and customer-specific standards.

Education & Experience:

- Education: B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical / Metallurgy
- Experience: 15–20 years in Quality Assurance,
- manufacturing./ Forging Industry,Tier-1 automotive
