Quality Engineer
Some quality roles ask you to follow a checklist. This one gives you the satisfaction of discovering what others cannot see.
You’ll feel the pride of knowing how an experience truly behaves in a customer’s hands. You’ll chase subtle problems, uncover what makes them happen, and turn uncertainty into answers your team can trust.
You’ll experience the joy of building something better, not simply maintaining what exists. Your curiosity will shape how quality is understood and improved. Your judgment will matter.
You’ll help reshape the future of how people experience digital health, making everyday interactions more dependable, effortless, and worthy of trust. You’ll set a new standard for thoughtful quality work, where human curiosity and intelligent tools strengthen each other. And you’ll build a legacy measured in problems customers never have to experience.
If independence, discovery, and meaningful ownership energize you, this is work you can proudly call yours.

ROLE SNAPSHOT —
- Location/Schedule: India, Remote, Full time; India hours with US overlap
- Purpose: Own real-device and release quality across mobile and web experiences, finding hardware-specific issues, investigating defects to their cause, and building trustworthy automation.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES —
- Own a physical device estate covering current flagship devices, older supported operating systems, tablets, and configurations that expose device-specific faults.
- Test hardware-dependent customer journeys including camera and label scanning, biometric authentication, health-data flows, and notifications on real devices.
- Own release verification across mobile applications and the progressive web application, confirming the actual build, environment, and deployed changes before testing.
- Extend and improve the existing automation library,
prioritizing repetitive checks currently consuming time during every release.
- Investigate defects using logs, SQL, source code, and physical-device reproduction to identify the conditions and underlying cause rather than simply reporting symptoms.
- Use cloud device testing for broad configuration coverage while understanding where physical hardware testing is necessary.
- Maintain a clear hardware coverage map showing which devices prove which supported configurations.
- Share coverage of the commerce estate with the Senior Quality Engineer during high-demand periods.
MUST-HAVE QUALIFICATIONS
- Around 2–4 years of hands-on software experience , indicative rather than a strict cutoff; development experience matters more than years alone.
- Ability to read code and follow a software change through to its likely effects.
- Ability to write SQL well enough to independently investigate questions and defects.
- Demonstrated experience automating something end to end because manual work had become inefficient or limiting.
- Current use of AI tools , combined with an understanding that their output requires judgment and verification.
- A methodical troubleshooting approach that isolates variables and identifies the conditions behind inconsistent behavior.
- Willingness to ask questions when something does not make sense rather than testing around uncertainty.
- Clear written English and the ability to work remotely with limited supervision.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Mobile testing experience on iOS or Android using physical devices.
- Experience with Appium, Playwright, Espresso, XCUITest, or a similar automation framework.
- E-commerce experience.
- Experience working with a content management system.
- Experience handling health, identity, or other sensitive data with disciplined test-data practices.
- Mobile accessibility testing experience.
A computer science degree, testing certification, prior experience with our specific platforms, or years of experience in every technology listed are not required .
WHAT WE OFFER
- Real ownership of a newly established India-based quality function.
- A physical device estate purchased specifically to support this role.
- Independence to determine what needs verification rather than simply executing predefined test cases.
- An AI-assisted engineering environment where agents, automated code review, and shared prompts are part of everyday work.
- Direct access to the logs and database information needed to investigate problems properly.
- A small engineering team shipping frequently, with meaningful responsibility from early in the role.
- Support while learning the hardware estate without requiring prior expertise across every platform.
Honest Challenge This role requires independence early. You will not receive a fixed test plan for every change, and a green dashboard is not enough evidence that something works. You will need to investigate intermittent problems until you understand the conditions behind them, decide what belongs in automation and what requires real hardware, and become accountable for an evolving device estate.
The short ~5-minute application step will ask you to demonstrate how you think, particularly around something you personally automated and how you investigate problems that do not behave consistently.
