QA / Software Testing Intern – Remote

We are looking for 1–2 QA / Software Testing Interns to join the Homed product team and help us test and improve our growing property technology platform.

This is a remote, versatile opportunity particularly suited to university students, recent graduates, or early-career candidates based in India who are interested in software testing, product development, and technology.

You do not need years of professional experience. We are looking for people who are curious, detail-oriented, reliable, and genuinely interested in learning how a live software product is built and tested.

About Homed

Homed is a UK proptech start-up building a more transparent property platform for tenants, landlords, agents, and property seekers. You will work directly with our software development team of 4 developers and get exposure to a live product environment rather than working only on theoretical projects.

What you'll be doing

Your main focus will be helping us identify problems before they reach users.

Responsibilities may include

- Testing new and existing platform features.
- Performing manual functional and exploratory testing.
- Testing complete user journeys and identifying unexpected behaviour.
- Testing the platform across desktop, mobile, browsers, and different screen sizes.
- Identifying, reproducing, and clearly documenting bugs.
- Creating clear bug reports with steps, screenshots, expected behaviour, and actual behaviour.
- Retesting fixes completed by developers.
- Helping maintain test cases and testing checklists.
- Checking that new features match agreed requirements and designs.
- Testing different user roles and scenarios across the platform.
- Working directly with developers to explain issues and help reproduce bugs.
- Providing feedback on usability and the overall user experience.
- Suggesting improvements where you identify opportunities.
- Supporting other product or testing-related tasks when required.

As you develop,



there may also be opportunities to learn more about automated testing, development workflows, product management, and software engineering if that interests you.

What we're looking for

You may be studying Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT, or a related subject, but we are also open to candidates from other backgrounds who can demonstrate a genuine interest in technology.

More importantly, we’re looking for someone who:

- Has strong attention to detail.
- Naturally questions whether something works as expected.
- Can explain problems clearly.
- Is comfortable learning independently.
- Takes ownership of tasks assigned to them.
- Communicates when they are stuck rather than waiting.
- Shows initiative and suggests ideas.
- Is organised and dependable.
- Is comfortable working remotely with an international team.
- Is interested in understanding the product, not just completing assigned tests.

Previous testing experience is useful but not essential .

Internship structure

Location: Remote – India

Hours: 20-40hrs/ week

Working pattern: Flexible around university or other commitments

Positions available: 1–2

Team: Work directly with our 4-person software development team

Compensation: Stipend

Contract duration: 2-3 months

We are an early-stage, self-funded start-up, so we want to be transparent that our internship budget is currently limited. We will, however, provide a stipend and ask candidates to tell us their stipend expectations when applying .

This role would benefit their career by working directly on a live product, receiving feedback from experienced developers, understanding how a start-up operates, and building meaningful professional experience for your CV. Strong performers may also be considered for future opportunities as Homed grows.
