Job Title: PYP Coordinator – IB Primary Years Programme

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and passionate PYP Coordinator to lead the effective implementation, development, and continuous improvement of the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP). The PYP Coordinator will provide academic and instructional leadership, mentor and support teachers, strengthen inquiry-based learning, and ensure alignment with IB Standards and Practices.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and coordinate the implementation of the IB PYP across the Primary School.
- Develop, review, and monitor the Programme of Inquiry (POI).
- Guide teachers in developing Units of Inquiry, planners, scope and sequence, and curriculum maps.
- Ensure effective vertical and horizontal curriculum alignment.
- Promote inquiry-based, concept-driven and transdisciplinary learning.
- Support teachers in implementing the IB Learner Profile, Approaches to Learning (ATL), and Approaches to Teaching (ATT).
- Facilitate collaborative planning meetings and curriculum review sessions.
- Mentor, coach, and support PYP teachers through classroom observations and constructive feedback.
- Identify teacher development needs and coordinate professional development, IB workshops, and training programmes.
- Guide teachers in formative and summative assessment, moderation, reflection, and documentation.
- Monitor student learning, engagement, progress, student agency and action.
- Maintain PYP documentation and ensure compliance with IB Standards and Practices.
- Support IB authorization, evaluation,



programme development and review processes.
- Work closely with the Principal, Head of Primary, teachers, specialist teachers, counsellors, and other academic leaders.
- Conduct parent orientation programmes and communicate the IB PYP philosophy and curriculum to parents.
- Promote international-mindedness, inclusion, collaboration, reflection, and lifelong learning.
- Contribute to school improvement initiatives, academic planning, events, and whole-school development.

Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Education / Teaching / relevant discipline.
- B.Ed. or equivalent teaching qualification preferred.
- Recognised IB PYP training/certification preferred; Category 2 training will be an advantage.
- Minimum 5 years of teaching experience, preferably in an IB World School.
- Previous experience as a PYP Coordinator, Assistant PYP Coordinator, Academic Coordinator, Curriculum Coordinator, or Instructional Leader is preferred.
- Strong experience in inquiry-based learning, curriculum development, assessment, teacher mentoring, and collaborative planning.
- Experience with IB authorization/evaluation processes will be an advantage.
